Chapter 88 A Charitable Deed
- “The doctor said the surgery costs three hundred thousand, and if my sister couldn’t undergo the operation soon, it’ll be too late to save both her kidneys. I’m really at my wits’ end, or I wouldn’t be doing this, but I can assure you that I’ve never done any of those filthy jobs you might be picturing,” Teressa stated while seizing Bradley’s arm as her pitiful look melted his heart.
- Bradley patted Teressa’s shoulder and said, “Well, since you’re a student, you should know that lying reflects badly on your character. So, how can you prove that you’re telling the truth?” Despite his helpful personality, he was worried that this girl could be phony. Considering how deceitful young people can be nowadays, I guess I can never be too careful.
- In a desperate attempt to explain herself, Teressa cried, “Why would I lie to you? I’ll bring you to the hospital to see for yourself right now since you don’t believe in me.” As soon as she finished her words, she immediately flagged down a cab and dragged Bradley into the vehicle, whereupon she told the driver their destination. “To Riverdale Hospital.” Soon, the cab pulled up outside the hospital before both of them made their way to the ward on the second floor. Upon opening the door, they were greeted by Phoebe, who was lying in bed as the latter looked at Teressa and Bradley in shock.
