Chapter 214 Ambushed Mid-Journey
- The driver glanced at the rearview mirror and saw that the car was tight on their tail. Beads of cold sweat formed on his forehead as he said, “Buddy, why is that car so intent on chasing you down? Don’t tell me; you—”
- “Don’t ask so many questions. If you want the 30,000, then drive faster. If they catch up to me, you might get dragged into the fight too,” Bradley replied calmly. His tone might have sounded light, but the driver felt very stressed by those words. The driver had no idea what kind of connection Bradley had with the car behind them. Therefore, he would only be safe if he could throw that car off their trail. After all, they were in the same car—he was bound to be dragged into whatever trouble that was brewing. All of a sudden, he sped forward. However, the car in front slammed to a stop suddenly, and he nearly rear-ended the car.
- Bradley wasn’t afraid of fighting with the men that were chasing him—he wasn’t scared of fighting. Rather, he was worried that if his identity was revealed, it would hinder Captain Lawrence’s investigation.
