Chapter 8 Jonah's Rage

  • "Hey!"
  • Bruce didn't expect that Casey would dare to talk back, "You little brat, you're quite a stubborn child, aren't you? Don't push your luck, or I might just kill you! Consider it your honor that my son wants to play with your toys, you shameless brat!"
  • "Mr. Bruce, please watch your language!"
  • Sarah's expression did not look great. As the homeroom teacher, she knew the students' personalities and habits very well. Casey had always been a good child in class, caring and considerate. There was no way he would hit someone.
  • It was Bruce's son, on the other hand, who usually took advantage of his family's power and caused trouble. Not only did he throw a fit and fight with his classmates on his first day of school, but he also kissed another female classmate! His behavior was terrible!
  • "Let's be clear here, Ms. Sarah. It is my son who is hurt and has a huge bump on his head now!"
  • Bruce narrowed his eyes at Sarah, threatening her.
  • "Yeah, Ms. Sarah. Are you being fooled? Casey is obviously in the wrong here. What's wrong with sharing toys among his peers? Was pushing really necessary?"
  • The principal chimed in to support Bruce. After all, Bruce was wealthy and influential in the area. On the other hand, Casey came from an ordinary family, it was obvious who to stand with.
  • "Ms. Avery, how could you…"
  • Sarah felt a surge of anger. How could someone with such twisted values work as an educator?
  • She was utterly disappointed!
  • "Enough of it now. Hurry up and phone this little brat's parents to come and compensate us. If they don't pay us 20 thousand dollars, then they can forget about reconciling."
  • With Ms. Avery's support, Bruce grew even more arrogant. He pointed at Casey and said, "Oh, and also, this little brat needs to be expelled!"
  • "Who are you calling a little brat?"
  • Creak.
  • The principal's office door opened suddenly as Jonah entered with a dark expression.
  • The term "little brat" stung Jonah's heart. When he turned around to see the handprint on Casey's face, his heart bled.
  • How could someone do this to a six-year-old child?
  • "Uncle Jonah, Uncle Jonah! Is that you? Uncle Jonah!"
  • Seeing Jonah, Casey rushed into his embrace, his small face flushed with excitement.
  • "It is me. I'm sorry I'm late."
  • Gently stroking Casey's bleeding face, Jonah felt a surging rage in his chest, a murderous intent growing from within.
  • He wanted to kill them!
  • He must kill them!
  • Otherwise, how would he face Rocco and Blair watching from above?
  • How would he live up to be the "Uncle Jonah" for Casey?
  • Casey shook his head vigorously, holding back tears.
  • "Ms. Sarah, could you please take him outside for a bit? The adults will discuss how to handle it here," Jonah said as he handed Casey over to Sarah.
  • Sarah wanted to say something but, in the end, she just nodded and took the two children out.
  • "So, you're that little brat's uncle?"
  • Bruce sat with his legs crossed and a cigarette dangling from his lips. He gave Jonah a dismissive glare and smirked mockingly at him. Jonah wore a blue shirt and jeans with a pair of canvas shoes which made him look like a country bumpkin.
  • "Hello sir, you must be Casey's guardian."
  • Ms. Avery said sternly, "Casey has been disruptive at school, and hasn't improved despite repeated warnings. Today, he even injured Mr. Bruce's precious son. You must compensate him immediately and take Casey away. We do not accept children of farmers or trash here!"
  • Since she chose to be subservient to Bruce, she went all out and started attacking Jonah.
  • "Are farmers' children not worthy of education?"
  • After Sarah left with the kids, Jonah slowly closed the door and stared coldly at Avery.
  • Bruce made him furious, but Avery made him deeply disappointed.
  • "Of course. Bright Minds Kindergarten is an elite school, it's not a place for anyone to get into. I really don't understand why a little brat like him was accepted. How dare he hit my son…"
  • Bruce carried on cursing.
  • "Smack!"
  • This time, however, Jonah didn't let Bruce's foul mouth run any longer. He stepped forward and slapped him across the face.
  • Bruce touched his burning cheek in shock.
  • He was, after all, one of the leaders at the Dragon Glory Club, commanding nearly two hundred followers. How could someone of his stature just be slapped like that?
  • "You… How dare you hit me?"
  • Bruce gritted his teeth and asked angrily, "Do you know who I am?"
  • "Which hand did you use to hit my nephew?"
