Chapter 4
- Stephan’s P.O.V.
- I had set up the system about a day after Izzy left and since then I have seen more of Dagmar and Jenna than I have before.
- Even Jordan pops in from time to time and when he asks if I heard anything about or from Izzy, I give him one word replies.
- At first they would walk in multiple times a day and now the girls show up every day, but leave as soon as they see me shake my head.
- Jordan is a different story, he shows up and always makes his way over to my desk, even though I shake my head. Apparently he wants to hear me say the word.
- The system has been in place for over a week now and I have only seen Izzy’s image twice. I don’t understand how it is possible she was able to dodge so many camera’s.
- But I am glad that the combination of her dodging camera’s and the flaw I put in the system keeps the alarm from appearing to often.
- Ring, Ring; I see an unknown number on my screen and for a second I want to ignore it, but it could be Izzy in need of my help.
- “Yeah.” Is my response as I pick up my phone. “Can you talk?” I hear Izzy ask. I look around me and notice that I am alone, so I inform her the coast is clear.
- She tells me about Mrs. Manning and I tell her about the system, Izzy tells me she had suspected Dagmar and Jenna would not take this lying down.
- And for that reason she was very aware of camera’s, I tell her that there are camera’s around that are unnoticeable and to try and dodge those as well.
- I also tell her that the girls are not the only one’s bugging me about her. She is quiet when I tell her Jordan is even worse than the girls and that causes her to chuckle.
- We say goodbye and I know she will be watching her every move even closer from now on.
- Izzy’s P.O.V.
- After I talked to Stephan, I knew I had to watch my surroundings even closer. Making sure I avoided camera’s as much as I could, so Stephan doesn’t have to erase to many alarms.
- But what surprised me the most was Jordan’s reaction to my leaving, why would he care.
- I didn’t tell Stephan where I was heading and he was wise enough not to ask.
- I have been on the road for a few days now and I have fallen in to a routine that works well for us . Early in the morning I find a place to sleep, after midday I walk in my Human form and after dinner and a small nap I run in my Lycan form.
- I am half way to the Golden Star Pack, the pack Mrs. Manning calls home.
- In my head I have gone over every question I have for her and I hope she can help me with my search, but I refuse to get my hopes up to high.
- Because the opposite questions run through my mind as well. What if she doesn’t know which ball it was, what if she doesn’t want to help me?
- I force myself out of the thoughts and take in my surroundings, because I need to find a place to sleep.
- Walking around for a few more minutes I find a cluster of caves and I choose the one with the smallest entrance.
- Crawling inside, I feel a familiar feeling and a smile spreads across my face. When I am inside, the memory from minutes ago comes rushing in to my mind.
- A 6-year old me is teasing my Father, while our Beta is watching us. “You cannot catch me. Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah.”
- I say and this makes the Beta laugh, because he knows that I am fast. Our Alpha and his Sister are sitting on a couch, watching, as I am taunting my Father.
- “Be careful, Little One.” Our Alpha says. “There are not many that can outsmart your Father.”
- I smile at the Alpha and then I stick out my tongue, making his Sister laugh. My Father lunges at me, thinking I am distracted.
- But I dive down and disappear in a small opening between the furniture.
- My Father lands flat on his face and that sends our Beta in to a fit of laughter. “Where did she go?” I hear my Father shout and I know he is looking for me in the room.
- What he did not see is that I crawled out of the room through the door that had been left ajar. I slipped out the back-door and sneaked up to the window.
- We both peak through the window at the same time, startling each other and that sends us all in to a fit of laughter.
- A smile creeps on to my face and I know I had an amazing childhood, despite the absence of my Mother.
- I place my back-pack near the back wall of the cave, when I see another opening to my left. It leads to a tunnel and soon I find out that the tunnel connects to another cave.
- I decide to have a look around before I go to sleep and I wander through the tunnels and caves.
- I go back to the cave were I left my backpack and lay down to get some much needed sleep.
- After waking up and eating some breakfast or lunch seeing the fact it is already midday, I crawl out of the cave.
- Opting the small entrance, instead of walking to a cave with a bigger exit, I lose the bracelet that I had tied to my back-pack. A gift my Father made for me.
- I walk until my stomach tells me it is time for dinner, luckily I am not far from a small town and I find a restaurant near the edge of town.
- As I walk in, I see a sign that says that today’s special is stew and Evie and I both get excited. Stew is a dish we both love to eat and our Father knows how to make the best.
- After I order my dinner, I look around me and the place has a homely feel.
- The waitress puts the stew in front of me and when I see the size of the portion I smile. “Something wrong, Sweety?” the waitress asks and I shake my head.
- Normally Human portions are too small for a Werewolf or a Lycan, but here it seems that they are generous. Then a man appears from the kitchen and I can smell he is a Werewolf, for a second I look at him confused.
- He smiles at me and the waitress walks up to him. He puts his arm around her shoulder and kisses her forehead. This is something I have never seen before, only heard of. Sometimes a Werewolf or Lycan gets paired with a Human, but it doesn’t happen often.
- It is difficult enough to find our Mate, finding it in a Human is even more rare. Watching them, I wonder if I will ever find that happiness.
- I nod my head, now understanding the portion of stew and I start eating. It tastes almost as good as my Father’s.
- Once I’m done, I ask the waitress for the check and head towards the door. I look over my shoulder at the couple and wish them a goodnight, before I walk out the door.
