Chapter 3

  • Stephan’s P.O.V.
  • Izzy has been gone for nearly three hours, but I have not heard anything about it yet. I just hope that she will be back soon, with or without answers.
  • I believe she took this opportunity not only to find her Mother, but also to get away from Jordan.
  • After Izzy decided she wanted a chosen Mate, we made a list of suitable guys together. I was the one who suggested Jordan, because I felt he would be able to handle her. I still can’t believe he turned her down.
  • I would have put myself on that list, but a few months before that Izzy had made me see that my interest was in males. Even though I haven’t traveled down that road yet.
  • I am staring at my computer screen, hoping to find information on the Evil Moon Pack. Our Alpha wanted to find that pack, ever since they killed his Mate and unborn pup.
  • Mason asked me to join the Tech-team a few months back when I helped him solve another problem. Even though I have been helping out whenever they needed me.
  • There had only been one survivor, her name is Dagmar and she has been friends with Izzy for a long time. Dagmar became friends with Jenna since the day she moved here.
  • Over the past few years I have only found small pieces of intel, but it had all been worthless. The door slams open and I look up to see Dagmar and Jenna walk in, they head straight for Mason.
  • Jenna tells him Izzy took off, but no one knows where she went or why she left. Mason tells them that he will think of a way to find her and I know if he comes up with something that he will find her.
  • After the girls leave, I walk over to his desk and ask him if he has a minute. I tell him I might have an idea and Mason looks at me, thinking for a few seconds and then he nods his head.
  • He tells me to do what I can and I tell him that I will keep him informed. I go back to my desk and start setting up a tracking system, but I will make sure it contains a flaw.
  • Growing up with three siblings and both parents, I have no idea what it is like for her. I hope her search will give her answers and maybe she will find a family.
  • Jordan’s P.O.V.
  • I heard a few of the recruits talking about Izzy and the fact that she left without explaining it to anyone. I wonder if the reason has anything to do with why she looked upset the other day or maybe it is because of me.
  • “Do you think she will be back?”
  • Nero asks me, but I don’t have an answer for him. I know that I had not been fair to her and I couldn’t blame her if she left because of what happened.
  • After the childhood I had, I knew I never wanted a Mate. I know my parents were happy, but seeing what happened to my Father after my Mother died made me decide to never want a Mate.
  • I know every Werewolf and Lycan has a Mate, but with my luck I will probably get a meek and tiny female. I know I can take a chosen Mate, but I knew that that opportunity had passed.
  • Thinking about that Nero starts howling in my head and I can tell he is upset about Izzy leaving.
  • Izzy’s P.O.V.
  • It has been three days since I found out about my Mother and I have no clue on how to find out who she is.
  • Sitting on a bench in a park, I enjoy the sun and the chatter of people around me.
  • Maybe I should go home and accept the fact that I will never find answers about my Mother.
  • My attention gets drawn to a group of Human girls sitting on a plaid in the grass, chatting about a girl that just moved to their neighborhood. As I listen to them, I realize that one of them answers every question they have about the girl and her family.
  • They are under the impression that no one can hear their conversation, but with me being a Lycan my hearing is better than that of Humans or Werewolves and I smile at their chatter.
  • Humans know we exist, but we do not live among them and Humans stay clear of us.
  • Because of rogues, Humans fear us and I can’t blame them for that. Rogues are vicious and ruthless, they attack unprovoked and a Human never survives.
  • I am still listening at the girls and they keep asking questions, which the other girl keeps answering.
  • Then I sit up straight, because the girl reminds me of a woman that visited our Pack years ago. She knew everything about Full Moon Balls and how many found a Mate during one of those Balls.
  • I start thinking back, because she might be able to help me and I need her name to find her.
  • I am in the living room with Dagmar and Jenna, when Alpha Maddox and his sister in law, Grace, walk in with a woman in tow. “Girls, this is Mrs. Manning. She will be staying with us for a few days.”
  • Alpha Maddox says and the three of us introduce ourselves to her. As usual Grace ignores me and directs all her attention to Dagmar.
  • It took me almost a week to find out where Mrs. Manning is living and now I am on my way to see if she is willing to see me.
  • It will take me a few days before I get to her Pack’s territory and I am not even sure if she will be inclined to help me out.
  • But this is the closest I have been to finding answers and I am not going to back down now. And even though I have not been gone for three months yet, I decide to contact Stephan so I can let him know I am moving a step forward in my search.
