• Kara had reached her apartment a few minutes ago. She quickly headed straight to the bathroom to brush her teeth and take a shower. The warm water cascading down her skin felt like a small solace after the emotionally draining evening. She let the water wash away her frustrations and disappointment.
• After a few minutes, she stepped out of the shower, wrapped a towel around her chest, and headed to her bedroom. Just as she was about to change into something comfortable, she heard the doorbell ring.
• Frowning, Kara wondered who could be at her door at this hour. She grabbed a robe and threw it over her towel before making her way to the door. Peeking through the peephole, she was surprised to see Ethan standing there, looking agitated.
