Chapter 66 Shane's Redemption

  • Stepping out of class, Shane had never felt so tired before. He felt the nape of his neck tense and his eyes felt very heavy. He saw the cloudy sky stretching above him. Rain would fall along with cold winds that would freeze the body. Shane hoped he would have an entire evening with a glass of whiskey and a fireplace warming his entire study.
  • His quiet and boring life had returned. Miley had been sent away to London smoothly. One of his informants confirmed that Miley returned to her apartment and worked in a private office as an accountant. It wasn’t too bad for a new start. Shane was relieved because he managed to prevent another nightmare in his life. Finding out that Miley was working with Calvin was a nightmare. He couldn't believe Miley could do anything worse to him than leave him without explanation the day before their wedding and run away with her boyfriend. Now, Renner was her ex.
  • Shane threw his briefcase into the back seat of his car. Light rain began to fall and in an instant it turned into heavy rain with very cold winds. Shane was grateful that he was sitting in his warm car and ready to go home. He drove at moderate speed because the fog was starting to limit his visibility. Heavy rain in autumn was a disaster. Many vehicles could not go faster because visibility was very short. It caused traffic jams at intersections and car horns shouting loudly at each other.
