Chapter 25 Twenty Five The Cold Professor

  • Time had passed so quickly since Jefferson's death. Cammila missed Jefferson's funeral because Shane forbade her to be there. She could only see the funeral procession through television news broadcasts. But that was only a small part of the entire process of Jefferson's funeral. Shane only allowed reporters to cover his grandfather's house for an hour. After that, the funeral process was carried out behind closed doors and only attended by people closest to Shane's family. Cammila regretted not being able to attend and conveyed her best wishes directly to Shane's grandfather. Cammila would remember their brief time together for the rest of her life.
  • For three days in a row Cammila spent her time at home just daydreaming. There was nothing she could do because Shane never came home and never gave her any news. She just realized that she used most of her time at home to serve Shane. At first, she hated the household tasks assigned to her. She felt like a servant who was not appreciated at all. But as time went by, Cammila enjoyed her job serving Shane. She no longer felt that she was a servant in the house, but rather a wife who was doing household chores.
  • Cammila sat on her bed alone, her legs bent up to her chest. She had checked her cell phone more than twenty times in the last two hours. She hoped Shane's name would pop up on her phone screen and Shane would at least say something to her. They hadn't spoken for three days. Cammila also couldn't meet Shane on campus because Shane was busy enough in his office that he didn't allow anyone to come to see him. And she was no exception.
