Chapter 28 Twenty Eight The Cold Professor

• The house felt cold and quiet. Shane turned on the light switch and looked around the room for any sign of Cammila. It had been a long time since he felt that emptiness. Since Cammila had lived with him, the house had become a warmer place. A comfortable place to come home to. But this time he felt the emptiness he had felt before.
• Shane went up to the second floor, and he felt unfamiliar being in his own home. He hadn't been home for a long time, except when he caught Cammila almost making love to a stranger in his house. Yesterday, he returned to his grandfather's house because he had to meet with his grandfather's lawyer. He decided to standby at his grandfather's house until the investigation into his grandfather's murder was completed for practical reasons.
• Shane knocked on Cammila's door three times before pushing the door open. He was greeted by cold and silence. The bed in the middle of the room was still neat and had not been touched at all. The bathroom floor was dry. Shane opened the wardrobe and found all of Cammila's belongings still intact in their places. Shane began to be haunted by anxiety. He then went to the control room to check the CCTV footage. He hadn't seen Cammila come into the house since yesterday, but he saw Cammila leave the house with a mask and backpack which she usually used to go to campus.
