Chapter 21 Luna's Fate

• The next morning, Aurora was summoned to breakfast by a servant. She walked into the grand dining hall with a heavy heart, her body sore and her mind racing with thoughts of escape. The room was filled with the smell of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon, but she had no appetite. The other girls eyed her with a mix of pity and envy, whispering about the night she had spent with Damian. Aurora felt their gazes like a thousand tiny knives, each one slicing through the fragile barrier she had built around herself.
• But then Lily appeared, her eyes blazing with a fury that seemed out of place in the opulent setting. She stormed over to Aurora, her fists clenched at her sides. "What did he do to you?" she demanded, her voice a harsh whisper that echoed in the cavernous room. Aurora's cheeks burned with a mix of shame and anger.
• "It's none of your business," Aurora snapped, her voice hoarse from the previous night's screams.
