Chapter 562 Unexpected Guests

• The conference room in Garden Hotel was more than 1000 square feet and it was filled to the brim with reporters. Everyone was focused on the podium as not only did Nathaniel invited Amanda over, he even invited them on stage. As soon as she was on stage, she began to search for her daughter. However, when she failed to see Peyton, she yelled at Freya, "Where did you hide my daughter, Ms. Freya! Did you do something that you're ashamed of that requires you to hide and sneak about?" Where is my daughter? Where is she? Does she not want her own mother anymore? Is she not going to be filial?" Nathaniel hated it when people yelled at Freya, and just as he was about to say something, he was stopped by Freya as she tugged his arm. This stunned Nathaniel. Apparently, ever since they returned from Pontenero, Nathaniel had not interacted with Freya physically for a very long time. That simple gesture of her tugging his arm was enough to warm his heart so much that he could cry. This even got him thinking that Peyton's unfortunate event had provided him with the best chance to reconcile with Freya since he was trying to come up with something to try to reconcile with Freya earlier. He did not expect their mutual goal of wanting to protect the kind and innocent Peyton would be the catalyst for their mutual agreement to work together for the first time.

This only made her gloat harder as she scoffed and sat down on the couch while Peyton's grandmother was beside her. She looked incredible and did not seem as ill as she pretended to be back then. Her two sons were sitting next to her and the trio looked happy. They were glad that Peyton had finally relented and once this was over, she planned to build a home each for her sons. She knew that her daughters-in-law were horrible people, so she was also planning to build herself a home for her to retire to. All the rich folks had their own homes, and she knew that good days were approaching for them since they would be getting quite the hefty sum of money. She decided that it was time for her unfilial daughter to repay her with money. She could not believe that Peyton had the audacity to hide her wealth from them. If it was not for her grandfather's funeral, they would have never known how well off Peyton was in recent years. She could not believe that Peyton would not even offer to help her uncles or care about her mother. So, if she refused to pay up then, she was planning to cripple Peyton. She guessed that the family member that Freya was referring to could only be Peyton.
