Chapter 239 The Call

• Freya’s body was trembling as the darkness felt overwhelmingly heavy to her. Suddenly, the silence was broken when her phone rang. Her gaze dimmed as soon as she saw who the caller was. So, she switched on the desk lamp and picked up Nathaniel’s video call.
• The place Nathaniel was at looked pretty sketchy and it seemed like he was in some sort of red light district. He was calling Freya from a small room. He was wearing a black shirt, and he seemed to have drunk some alcohol. His face looked a little flustered then. However, he was stunned when he saw the shelf behind Freya. He remained silent after that.
• After a good long while, he spoke in a hoarse voice. “Did you return home?”
