Chapter 4 Fashion Stylist Aaron

  • Joyce's face flushed, he lowered his head and walked quickly towards the room. Before reaching the bedroom door, she hesitated and turned back. "Wilson, may I ask you something?"
  • Wilson hesitated, his forehead creasing. "What is it?"
  • "Well... do I truly look ugly?" Joyce mustered up the courage to ask. Previously, she hadn't considered herself ugly. In high school, many boys had sent her love letters. It was only after dating Dicky that she stopped caring for her skin, causing it to deteriorate. To conceal the damage, she learned to apply makeup from Alicia, who even advised her on the most suitable makeup for her face. Even today, she followed Alicia's guidance on everyday attire and makeup, which always garnered praise from Dicky. Thus, she trusted Alicia's choices and teachings.
  • However, after their canceled wedding and Alicia's public insult, Joyce's confidence had plummeted. Today, she had been insulted once again by Wilson's sister-in-law, further exacerbating her insecurities.
  • Wilson approached Joyce, examining her face intently. Her eyes held a mixture of seriousness and playfulness.
  • Joyce swallowed nervously, recognizing that men and women held different perspectives on beauty. She eagerly awaited Wilson's response, which ultimately plunged her into a pit of despair.
  • "Joyce, to be honest, your facial appearance is truly unattractive, especially with the makeup. It only accentuates your resemblance to a devil."
  • Joyce Albert bit her lip, as a woman being called unattractive without hesitation by a man, her self-esteem had significantly diminished and she couldn't accept this.
  • Her two bright eyes appeared to be welling up with tears.
  • Wilson noticed Joyce's reaction, and he felt uncomfortable and perplexed. He disliked seeing women cry. In the past, if a woman was crying in front of him, he would avert his gaze and leave her. However, today, when he saw Joyce on the verge of tears, his instinct was to try to comfort her: "I didn't mean it like that. Perhaps your makeup doesn't suit your face."
  • Joyce nodded reluctantly, forcing a smile. "Yes, I understand. That's enough. Don't let me disturb you any longer. I'll go to bed first." With a heavy heart, she walked away towards the bathroom, her frustrated expression clearly visible to Wilson.
  • The bathroom was spacious and adorned with sparkling lights. Compared to the bathroom Joyce was accustomed to, this one was more luxurious and elegant. However, she was in no mood to appreciate its opulence. She blinked several times to see her face clearly in the mirror.
  • The woman reflected in the mirror appeared older than her age, with her hair pulled back into a high ponytail. Her heavy makeup, including dark gray eyeshadow and thick eyeliner, made her resemble a hotel receptionist.
  • The more Joyce scrutinized her face, the more emotional she became. How had she maintained this garish appearance for so many years and still believed it made her look beautiful?!
  • With these thoughts, Joyce felt her anger building up. She lifted an object in her hand and hurled it towards the mirror.
  • The sound of the object colliding with the mirror was loud, and Joyce's mind immediately began to process everything.
  • She finally understood. All of this was Alicia's malicious scheme. Alicia deliberately made Joyce look like this, with the goal of driving Dicky away from her!
  • It was no wonder that every time Joyce and Dicky went on a date, Alicia would always accompany them, acting as a deterrent. Joyce had naively believed that Alicia simply wanted to spend more time with Dicky.
  • In her heart, Joyce cursed herself for being foolish and began to hastily remove her makeup. Ten minutes later, her plain, makeup-free face was visible in the mirror.
  • Joyce hadn't seen her innocent face without makeup in a long time. Since Dicky had become the main manager at Damian company, Joyce had lost her self-confidence. She didn't dare to remove her makeup carelessly, fearing that her plain face wouldn't match Dicky's.
  • But today, when she saw her innocent face, she unexpectedly saw a new version of herself that wasn't as intimidating as before.
  • The woman's skin behind the mirror had become rough from relying on foundation for so long. Acne covered her face and was starting to turn red. However, her posture and sculpted face were perfect and fitting, especially her clean and bright eyes, which exuded a certain radiance.
  • Her current face looked much better compared to her heavily made-up face from before.
  • Joyce closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She had made a decision. From tomorrow onwards, she would change and improve her appearance. She would make Dicky, her ex-boyfriend who had dumped and betrayed her, regret it!
  • To reach her room from the bathroom, she had to pass through Wilson's room. The door to Wilson's room wasn't completely closed, allowing the soft yellow light from his room to seep through.
  • Initially, Joyce wanted to quicken her pace and go to her room. However, she accidentally overheard Wilson's voice, which sounded softer than usual. "Yes, madison, I already know. You can rest now, okay?"
  • Madison? That woman must be the one who was in the news with Wilson, going to the hotel two days ago.
  • Joyce suddenly felt disappointed, but she tried not to let it bother her. She paused for a few seconds before quickly walking towards her room. The gossip news had mentioned that the woman involved in the scandal and close to Wilson had only lasted a week. However, she didn't know how long Madison relationship with Wilson would last.
  • Upon reaching her room, Joyce lay down on the soft mattress. She had been busy all day and was just starting to drift into the world of dreams when she heard a knock on the door from outside.
  • Joyce mustered all her strength to refocus herself and half-heartedly got up to open the bedroom door.
  • Wilson stood outside the bedroom door, extending his hand and handing Joyce a piece of paper. "This is the phone number of Madison personal fashion stylist. His name is Aaron. Aaron is highly renowned in this field. If you need him, you can give him a call. Madison has already informed him."
  • After a few seconds, Joyce comprehended the meaning behind Wilson's words. Her face displayed a hint of confusion as she saw the paper in Wilson's hand.
  • Madison fashion stylist? So, he called Madison just to ask for her fashion stylist's number and give it to Joyce?
  • Wilson noticed Joyce's silence and immediately took hold of one of her hands, placing the paper with the phone number into her palm. After doing so, he turned around and went back to his room.
  • Only then did Joyce snap back to reality. She called out to Wilson, stopping him in his tracks. "Wilson."
  • "What is it?"
  • "Thank you."
  • Wilson simply chuckled and didn't respond. As his figure disappeared from the corners of Joyce's eyes, she finally heard Wilson exclaim, "Your plain, makeup-free face looks beautiful."
  • The next day, Joyce began contacting Aaron's provided contacts.
  • Aaron's face was no less handsome, but his attractiveness differed from Wilson's. He had a soft and feminine appearance.
  • When Aaron saw Joyce, he furrowed his brows disapprovingly.
  • He resembled a security officer inspecting all of Joyce's clothing and makeup tools. After inspecting them, he instructed Joyce to discard everything.
  • Joyce cried and pleaded with Aaron. "Dear Aaron, can I keep a few pieces of clothing? These few items have cost me a lot of money."
  • "Do you want to become beautiful?" Aaron asked.
  • "Always."
  • "Do you want your appearance and style to be high-class?"
  • "Always."
  • "Do you want to be the center of attention when you go out and receive praise from many people?"
  • "Always."
  • "Then throw away all these things. If you're unwilling, I'm sorry, but it seems I won't be able to help you."
  • Joyce hesitated for a moment before deciding to follow Aaron's advice and discard all her belongings.
  • Well, in order to seek revenge on those despicable men and wrongdoers, she was willing to sacrifice everything!
  • After disposing of her items, Aaron examined Joyce's face. If faces could be discarded, Joyce was certain that Aaron would be merciless and tell her to throw away her face and exchange it for a new one.
  • "Lord Aaron, can my face still be salvaged?" Joyce asked, her voice filled with uncertainty.
  • Aaron remained silent for a few seconds before reluctantly responding, "It will be very difficult."
  • Upon hearing Aaron's words, Joyce felt a sense of hopelessness engulf her. Just as she was beginning to despair, Aaron continued, "But since you sought me out, I naturally have a way to fix it."
  • Joyce's heart was momentarily relieved. It seemed that every person who excelled in their respective fields enjoyed surprising and astounding people like this. Truly, Aaron had nearly startled her to the point of losing her spirit and will to live.
  • "What should I do, Lord?"
  • "First, you must promise not to leave the house for three months. Within these three months, I will repair your severely damaged face."
