Chapter 6 Ciao
- "You are awake?" Lucien's eyes widen and he adjusts on his seat as his eyes peer tenderly on her and in a whiff, he forgets all she earlier babbled.
- Juliet scoffs and rolls her eyes at him but suddenly sighs softly, patting her aching head tenderly. "I've been awake for a long time now thinking about several things, Lucien. And the most painful part of them is you! I thought you dead!
- "And to be honest, you are the last person I want to see right now because I hate you so fucking much! I deeply do!" She pats her head trying so hard to hold back her tears but they flow freely down her cheeks.
- Lucien lowers his head as her words cut him so deeply and stretch his hand to hold her but she shoves it away and glares at him. "I didn't mean to leave, Juliet. You were there years ago when your dad said all the things he said to me. You..."
- "And so fucking what!" She barks, interrupting him, and groans out as the aching in her head intensifies due to her scream. He tries to hold her again but she scowls at him, stopping his hand midway. "I was willing to fight for us, Lucien! I was willing to give all away just for us to be together. But what did you do? You left, Lucien! You left for six fucking years without even looking back and here you are today. What are you here for? What do you want?!"
- "You," he breathes, staring intently at her. He's always known that getting her back won't be so easy and that's something he's prepared for. To him, he will fight for her to the very end.
- "Me?" Juliet curls her brows at him and lets out a dry chuckle.
- "You don't need to be sarcastic, Juliet so you can stop the sarcasm now. I know I screwed up by leaving but I had no other option. I..."
- "You had an option, Lucien!" She interrupts him yet again and sits up. She looks into his eyes and sighs. "What came over you then? We used to discuss everything before doing it, Lucien but you left that day without even discussing anything with me! I waited for you the first day, the second day, the third, a week, a month, a year, two years, three, and yet you never came back! I became a laughingstock! I became the trending news! Do you know how bad it hurt?" She sniffles and wipes off her tears.
- "I'm sorry I made you pass through all that. I had to regain my sanity and also find myself. I didn't mean to leave and definitely didn't mean to take so long but life had its way. I'm here for you, baby. I came back for you."
- "It's too late, Lucien. I'm not a piece of trash that you can throw away and pick up anytime you want. Six years is really so long to leave a woman you claim to love. Please leave. Get the fuck out and I don't want to see you ever again!"
- "But I just said I'm sorry!" Lucien growls before he can hold back himself and sighs. "I'm sorry, baby," he whispers, getting a grip on his emotions. It feels like his heart is breaking apart.
- It feels like everything he labored for six years is crumbling before him. The thought of it brings tears to his eyes and he lets it drop freely.
- "I hate you! And I don't fucking care about your crocodile tears! Keep your damn sorry to yourself and get the fuck out of here! Security! Security! Come get this asshole out of here! Security!" Juliet wails at the top of her voice to the extent that Lucien has to cover his ears.
- "You will injure your throat. I don't want you having a sore throat," Lucien suddenly smiles and stands. "Your anger is justified, mi amor and that's why I'm giving you some time to clear it out. Your heart is meant to harbor your love for me, not anger. I disrupted the wedding so that you will have days to think about everything. I..."
- "There's nothing to think about!" She glares at him. "Just get the fuck out! Leave!"
- "I'll leave but pass this information to your so-called paired-up spouse. Tell him that I'll send him to where he belongs if I see him ten meters close to you. You are mine and definitely, nothing can change that! Ciao."
- A sweet sensation courses through Juliet and a blush creeps into her face at his words but it leaves just as quick as it came and gets replaced with a glare. "You can pass that information to him yourself! And note that I'm not yours! And I'm definitely not his," she mumbles the last only to her hearing but somehow Lucien hears it and smiles inwardly.
- "It's delightful to know that my sweet words still have an effect on you. We sure will be meeting again. Ciao for now, mi amor." He takes steps before she can say anything but stops as he gets to the door. "I love you and will definitely have you as mine."
- He opens the door and walks out without even turning to know the reaction the words have on her.
- "You!" Just as Lucien walks out the door, Mr. Santiago wails and rushes to hit him.
- "I wouldn't do that if I was you, Santiago," Lucien says with all smiles, calling him his name without title while fiddling with his fingers.
- Mr. Santiago halts abruptly and brings down his already raised hand not knowing why he is being affected by the words of the riffraff as he calls him. "Why did you push my daughter!" He stomps his foot. "I'll get you arrested for assault!"
- "And what are you waiting for?" Lucien joshes at him. "Come on, Santiago. Call the cops on me. Or are you afraid?"
- "You've become so full of yourself, asshole! And yet you have nothing! You are just poverty-stricken and I swear I'll make you pay for what you did to my daughters! I will make you pay!" Mrs. Avery who couldn't just hold back herself, threatens, pointing at Lucien with eyes blazing fire.
- "It will be my pleasure, Avery. Now, if you all will excuse me, I need some fresh air."
- He walks out leaving them with their widened eyes and dropped jaws.
- He gets out of the hospital— to an isolated place and brings out his big phone. He presses something and then dials a number. "Send that money to Royal Hospital's account and send a written note that it is for the bills of one Miss Juliet Pearson. And tell them that the remains of the money should be given to Mr. Santiago and Mrs. Avery to call the cops they want to call on one Lucien Wood. Ciao."
