Chapter 30 What Is It?

• The look on Brooks Miller is so dark that one will think he is seeing a ghost. And his breathing is so erratic and coming out as if it is being forced out.
• 'When you see a ghost you lose your senses and your head swells up for a split second or minute or even minutes.'
• That is the state Brooks is in. He looks so lost as he stares at Lucien but yet his eyes are not on him. But somewhere far beyond. His stare is so distant.
