- Vanessa stands in front of him, waiting-demanding-an explanation, but he remains silent. Her thoughts spiral back to the snide remarks from the women in the elevator and Josephine's cold, judgmental glare. To them, she's nothing more than a homewrecker, a woman sleeping her way to the top-causing strife in her boss's relationship-while he just sits there like none of it matters.
- "What's the point of all this?" she asks, her voice trembling with anger. "Did I do something wrong?"
