• Vanessa arrives early, takes her seat, and dives into her tasks. One by one, the other staff members start arriving-Carolina among them.
• "Why didn't you wait for me?" Carolina asks, frowning as she sets her bag down. "I thought you'd be feeling down after yesterday. I even got up early to make breakfast for you."
• "Sorry, sweetheart," Vanessa replies, giving her a small hug. "I'm not in the mood for food. And I've got a lot on my desk that I need to finish before the end of the day."
