Chapter 22 Twenty One

• “Marie said she was the most severely injured in the crash, Lena.” Alex said as she gently brushed through Lena's hair later that night while they talked. “Mr. Moneau was injured by the glass, and his body was pinned when the car collided with the tree.”
• Alex continued after a pause. “It was like Tessa was lunged forward during the crash and she'd hit her head real badly, which caused internal bleeding.”
• Lena closed her eyes tightly, as if bracing herself against the pain of the story.
