• "I see you're rebelling against your boss,” Adrian said, his voice tinged with mockery as he leaned casually against a garden bench, where Lena had suggested they stayed and talked.
• He had a sly smirk on his lips and his sharp eyes raked over Lena, who still caught his interest even in her plain maid's uniform.
• “I'd suggest you mock me quickly, and be on your way,” Lena replied curtly, her earlier smile now replaced by a hardened expression. "I promise you, this is not worth your time.”
