Chapter 5 Can You Really Treat

  • Kaiser and Elvira were taken aback by Sylvia's sudden address of "Honey."
  • Sylvia flashed a charming smile as she wrapped her arms around Kaiser's neck. She said languidly, "That's right, Honey. We have important matters to attend to. I'm getting impatient, you know."
  • After speaking, she shot Elvira a provocative look.
  • Infuriated, Elvira pointed at the entangled couple and exclaimed in a trembling voice, "You... Shameless couple!"
  • She had some suspicions before, but now it was confirmed—Kaiser was indeed cheating on her!
  • Kaiser pushed Sylvia away somewhat helplessly. He knew she wanted to help him save face in front of his ex-wife.
  • After all, she was the sole heir to the Valerio family, the future countess, and the dream lover of numerous aristocrats.
  • Kaiser tried to push her away, but Sylvia clung even tighter. A moment of tension ensued.
  • Watching the couple getting all intimate in front of her, Elvira thought Kaiser was showing off to her. Her anger and frustration surged.
  • "Kaiser! When did you get involved with her?" Elvira exclaimed.
  • Kaiser was about to speak when Sylvia interjected, "Is it any of your business? You're just his ex-wife. Speaking of which, I should thank you. If you hadn't divorced Kaiser, I wouldn't have had the chance to get such an outstanding man."
  • Elvira's lungs felt like they were about to explode from anger.
  • Not wanting to escalate the situation, Kaiser said in exasperation, "Enough, let's go. The matter at hand is more important."
  • The so-called important matter referred to the medical treatment, but Elvira had misunderstood, thinking of something else entirely.
  • The thought of her former husband, who had once vowed to love her deeply, engaging in intimate activities with the woman in front of her infuriated Elvira.
  • Sylvia also knew when to stop. She released Kaiser and floored the accelerator.
  • Elvira urgently shouted, "Stop right there!" She intended to get into her car to chase after the pair.
  • However, her phone suddenly rang. It was a call from her assistant, Sarah. Elvira stomped her foot, reluctantly answering the call on the spot, "Elvira, I just received news. Lord Valerio's granddaughter has returned from abroad. The Valerio family is hosting a party, and our company is on the invitation list."
  • "Valerio?" Elvira's mind stirred. "Could it be related to the partnership?"
  • "Yes, Ms. Valerio must've returned to take over the family business. If we can become her friend during the party, we might become partners with the Valerio family!" Sarah excitedly exclaimed.
  • Recalling Valerio's status, Elvira was filled with anticipation, "Okay, got it. I'll head back to prepare for the event now."
  • After glancing once more in the direction the red sports car had departed, Elvira gritted her teeth and changed directions to head back.
  • Meanwhile, Kaiser and Sylvia arrived at Fairlake's largest hospital, St. Marian Hospital.
  • Sylvia led Kaiser to the door of a special ward. "I suppose you've guessed it by now. The patient is my grandpa. If you can cure him, the Valerio family will forever be indebted to you!"
  • "There's no need for gratitude," Kaiser said flatly. "I'm just here to repay a debt."
  • With that, he opened the door to the ward and walked in.
  • Inside the room, several people surrounded Arthur with worried expressions. Seeing Kaiser enter, they all looked over. One young girl, in particular, shouted loudly, "Who are you? What are you doing here? Get out!"
  • Sylvia stepped forward from behind Kaiser, saying, "Irinka, mind your manners. Mr. Rafaelsen is the doctor I invited."
  • Upon hearing this, the young girl named Irinka Valerio gave Kaiser a peculiar look.
  • Doctor? He's so young, though.
  • The others in the room also sized up Kaiser, their gazes tinged with a hint of disdain.
  • They were medical experts hired at great expense by the Valerio family, well-known in their field. However, they had never heard of someone like Kaiser in the medical community. Being so young, he was likely a fraud!
  • "Syl, are you sure you didn't make a mistake?" Irinka bluntly questioned. "You haven't been deceived, have you?"
  • Displeased, Sylvia immediately rebuked, "Stop talking nonsense. I worked hard to bring Mr. Rafaelsen here by asking for Mr. Roderick's help. Apologize to Mr. Rafaelsen now!"
  • Irinka pouted, clearly unwilling to yield to Kaiser.
  • However, Kaiser didn't mind and said, "It's okay. Let me take a look at the patient first."
  • With that, he approached the bed. After taking a look at Arthur, he immediately frowned.
  • The expressions on the faces of the experts in the room became even more disdainful.
  • Arthur's condition was extremely rare, and they had studied it for a month without any leads. They doubted that Kaiser, a young man in his twenties, could have a solution.
  • Irinka blurted out, "Hey, can you really treat sick people?"
  • "No," Kaiser replied, "but your grandpa isn't really sick."
  • "What?"
