Chapter 10 The Mafia Don Morris

  • Sylvia drove Kaiser to the entrance of his residential area.
  • She was contemplating what excuse to use to visit Kaiser's home when suddenly, a van rushed out and blocked the road. Startled, she immediately hit the brakes.
  • Subsequently, more than a dozen thugs with metal pipes jumped out of the van.
  • The leader, a heavily tattooed burly man wielding a metal pipe, smashed the front windshield of Sylvia's sports car, shattering it into pieces. He pointed at the car and shouted, "Get out of the car now!"
  • Behind him, the young thugs were also unabashedly hitting the sports car with their metal pipes noisily. In an instant, they had turned a brand-new Porsche into a wreck.
  • Sylvia was stunned. As the heiress of the Valerio family, even the mayor had to speak to her with utmost respect. She had never been treated this way.
  • How dare they wreck my car?
  • Already boiling with anger after learning about Arthur's curse, Sylvia was about to explode.
  • However, she didn't lose her temper on the spot. As the heiress to the Valerio family, she immediately considered a deeper motive.
  • Why are these people so audacious? Could they be connected to the person who cursed Grandpa? Are they here to kidnap me after the curse failed to threaten Grandpa?
  • As Sylvia pondered, she calmly extended her hand beneath the steering wheel and asked, "Who are you? Who is your boss?"
  • There was a hidden compartment under the steering wheel, concealing a small pistol.
  • The thugs failed to notice this. The leader swung his steel pipe, shouting, "Quit the nonsense! Get out of the car!"
  • One of the thugs stared at Sylvia, unable to hide his lecherous gaze. "Damn, this woman is really attractive!"
  • "Well, what a pleasant surprise," the gang leader said, licking his lips. "After we're done with the guy, we'll take her back for everyone to have some fun!"
  • At this point, Sylvia couldn't hold back any longer. She tightly gripped her pistol, ready to draw it out.
  • Kaiser immediately stopped her. Under her puzzled gaze, he opened the car door and stepped out.
  • Kaiser had realized that the target was him, and Sylvia was merely caught up in the crossfire.
  • As a man, he couldn't let Sylvia take the blame for him.
  • Seeing Kaiser obediently get out of the car, the gang leader burst into laughter. "I didn't expect you to have some guts, kid! I thought you'd hide behind a woman forever! However, doing this won't save your life."
  • With that, he swung his metal pipe at Kaiser.
  • Sylvia held her pistol, ready to fire at any moment.
  • Kaiser's expression turned cold. He effortlessly caught the steel pipe under the leader's shocked gaze. He then snatched it away and ruthlessly struck the leader in the face!
  • "Boss!" the other gang members cried out in alarm, rushing over to check on their leader's injuries.
  • Covering his face, the leader collapsed to the ground with a visible red mark on his face and several broken teeth, groaning in pain.
  • "Damn, how dare you hit our boss?" The remaining dozen or so thugs charged menacingly at Kaiser.
  • However, Kaiser merely swung the metal pipe in his hand, and a small thug immediately fell to the ground.
  • In just a short span of ten seconds, there wasn't a single thug left standing on the scene.
  • Sylvia watched with amazement, her eyes filled with admiration. She hadn't expected Kaiser to be such a skilled fighter.
  • From her observation, he was better than the Valerio family's bodyguards who were paid millions annually.
  • "Tell me the truth. Who sent you?" Kaiser swung the blood-stained pipe over his shoulder, addressing the leader of the thugs on the ground.
  • Regret filled the thug leader's heart. If he had known Kaiser could fight this well, he wouldn't have taken this job.
  • Nevertheless, he was involved in the mafia. Naturally, he harbored extreme hatred for Kaiser after being beaten up. Instead of answering Kaiser's question, he threatened, "You're done for, kid. I work for Mr. Morris. By beating me, you've offended Mr. Morris. Prepare to die!"
  • "Morris?" Kaiser's brow furrowed. Morris was known as the Don of Fairlake, the leader of the largest gang in Fairlake. Naturally, Kaiser had heard his name before.
  • "That's right!" Misinterpreting Kaiser's frown as fear, the thug leader boasted, "Offending Mr. Morris means you're in for a terrible fate. Be sensible and pay a compensation of ten million. If you do, we can let this go. Otherwise, your whole family will suffer!"
  • "Ten million?" Kaiser remained silent, but Sylvia suddenly chuckled coldly and spoke up. "So, it's Morris who sent you. He's quite audacious, huh? How dare he attempt to kidnap me?"
  • Sylvia couldn't believe that Morris would go to such lengths for a mere ten million. She was worth more than that. Feeling insulted, Sylvia said, "Kaiser, break their hands and feet. Tell them that if Morris wants money, he can come to Valerio Villa himself!"
  • In truth, Kaiser didn't believe these thugs were truly sent by Morris because he knew he had never offended Morris. It made no sense for Morris to target him.
  • Moreover, from his observation, the thugs didn't seem to be targeting Sylvia specifically.
  • So, who exactly have I offended?
  • Thinking it over, there was only one possible person—Danton.
  • Following Sylvia's request, Kaiser proceeded to disable the leader before telling them to leave.
  • The thugs quickly retreated to their van and fled the scene.
  • Kaiser noticed another car, parked a few dozen meters away, leaving with the van.
  • Kaiser squinted his eyes. He recognized the owner of that car!
