Chapter 7

• Amara---
• Amara arrived at Baze at eight and rode the elevator up alone, thank goodness. The moment she arrived at the reception area, she darted into the bathroom to quickly look over at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a black shift dress and a black blazer with nude sensible heels. A good safe outfit that she felt comfortable and professional in. Her hair had been blown out loosely in blonde waves, and her makeup was subtle—just a tiny amount to cover up the sleep deprivation and add a little shine to her lips. She ran her fingers through her hair and took a deep breath. She was the part and she knew it.
• She stepped back out of the bathroom and had no idea what to do now. She didn't even know if she was going to have an office, or where it would be. She paused for a moment, then told herself to ignore Leo and pretend that today was her first day at any company. She nodded to herself and headed to the reception desk where a pretty redhead was sitting at a computer typing.
