• Leo drove through town and stopped in front of Amara's apartment building around eight twenty-five. He didn't know what to do. Does he send her a text? Beep the horn? Go to her door? He was afraid going to her door would be too formal and aggressive, and a beep or a text would be too much, like he was pushing her. He was saved from having to make the decision when Amara opened the front door and walked out.
• She was gorgeous. She wore a pale pink knee-length dress and a white jacket and white strappy shoes. Her hair hung loose about her face.
