• "I found my mate having sex with my sister on the same day I went to tell him the news that I was expecting a puppy," Katrina says after a few minutes of silence. Ragnar looks up when he hears that, but doesn't say anything. Something in his chest twists with that confession. He had never felt such a strong urge to kill someone, especially when he hears her sob softly again.
• "They set a trap for me to bring me here. My own husband shot me once and then rejected me. When he shot me a second time, I fell off that cliff. I only had time to accept his rejection before losing consciousness."
• That last statement furrows Ragnar's brow.
