- Levian strode down the busy hallway of the hospital, his mind preoccupied with memories of the past. He had walked this same path many times before, but today it felt different. The weight of his thoughts seemed to slow his steps as if he was walking through molasses.
- Walking the familiar corridor, he paused at Sherry’s office, his eyes locking onto the shiny name tag still affixed to the door. The sight of it made his heart sink. Sherry was one of the most hardworking people he knew, and yet she was targeted and harmed all the time. Just yesterday, there was a malevolent assault on Sherry. It was a miracle that she was still alive, but the hospital seemed to be running as if nothing had happened. "How can they be so insensitive?" he muttered to himself.
- Without thinking, Levian reached out and plucked the name tag from its perch. “This place doesn't deserve Sherry,” he muttered under his breath, his frustration and anger building inside him. With her qualification and expertise, she could work anywhere she wanted but not here!
