Chapter 8
- POV Sherry
- “You look beautiful Sherry.” Bella entered her room as Sherry was preparing to wear her dress.
- “Bella...” Sherry’s face lightened up when she saw Bella entering but the images from last time came back to haunt her.
- “Glad you are here.” She gave an uncomfortable smile, which must have looked a little unnatural to Bells because the color of Bella’s face changed suddenly at that moment.
- ‘Did she notice something off about me?’ Sherry wondered curiously.
- “You okay girl?” Standing up, she went to check on Bella who was just standing there.
- On the other hand, Bella felt a slight pain on her stomach ad there was a slight fetal movement as well.
- ‘Did we overdo it yesterday?’ She wondered while clutching her stomach. She was already starting to feel sweaty because of the pain.
- “Nothing is wrong at all.” Bella cheered up instantly in order not to get her suspicious. “Since it is your marriage today, guess I was too excited to sleep yesterday.”
- “To excited to sleep you say?” Sherry was reminded of how the woman was sleeping like a log after the deed. How hypocritical she was, Sherry could only scoff in her heart.
- It was not the right time yet.
- Bella gave her a tight hug and a wet smooch landed on her right cheek. But even that hug and kiss lost the warmth and happiness they brought her once upon a time.
- “Don’t press yourself so hard…. geeze..” Sherry pointed at her bloated stomach and said with a little laugh.
- “You might squash the baby.”
- Bella felt there was something wrong with the way she spoke but…
- ‘Might be my illusion...’ She just waved off the thought and decided to concentrate on her own plans. She could not afford to mess up the big plan they had made for so long.
- As she was doing her hair, Bella suddenly asked for a drink.
- Wow, same dialogue as the last life!
- All this time, Sherry had a little doubt in whether all of this was her dream and the fact that she was reborn was just her delusion.
- But no!!
- She was more than sure about the fact that she indeed died and was reborn.
- “Okay, please stay well.” Sherry went to the kitchen to fetch a glass of milk.
- As if...
- She stayed back and watched what she was going to do from the door silently.
- As soon as Sherry left, Bella stood up from her chair and pulled something out of her purse.
- As a doctor, how could she not recognize it?
- Just by looking at it, she knew it was poison—the kind that leaves no trace once it mixes with the bloodstream. When someone drinks it and dies, it would appear to be a natural death.
- Only the most skilled toxicologists could detect the poison, and even then, only after running extensive tests and analyzing various chemicals.
- But how did she get her hand on such a dangerous toxin? Sherry was more shocked by thus revelations. It was not a rat kill that was found in all the shops that grew around like mushroom in rainy season.
- Was there something else she did not know? Sherry was filled with even more questions but she was much sadder on knowing that the poisoning was true.
- ‘All for the sake of Chris? Are you doing this to me to get him?’ Sherry felt a heart wrenching pain but not a drop of tear fell down from her eyes.
- She was too dry to cry right now.
- “Bella, I am back.” Sherry deliberately increased her tone to let her arrival be known to her.
- Bella hurriedly hid the poison in her purse and took out lipstick and pretended to have been putting it on when she arrived.
- “Thank you honey.” Bella smiled putting the lipstick on her bag again.
- Sherry handed the milk she had brought with a swift smile. After drinking the milk, Bella picked up the water bottle and offered it Sherry.
- “You look really tired and sweaty.” She urged her to take the bottle.
- “Have some drink to hydrate yourself..tch..What will you do when I am not around.”
- Acting like a proper sister she helped Sherry to wipe the few beads of sweat on her fore head while her was already wet with it since her stomach was giving her slight pain once in a while.
- Sherry took the water bottle, opened it and when she was about to lift it up, she accidentally….yes accidentally it fell from her hand spilling the water all over the carpet even wetting her wedding dress.
- “Oh no…” It was Bella who had a horrified expression on her face that screamed out in shock.
- “This, how could you be this careless??” She screamed at a high pitch but when she realized Sherry was giving her a strange look.
- “Why are you acting like this?” Sherry looked at her with her eyes widened in surprise.
- “It’s just spilling water.”
- “I mean…er…..look at your dress stupid.” She changed her statements but her voice could not hide the panic she felt.
- “Come on, its just a dress. Don’t act like something big happened.” Sherry gave out a soft chuckle.
- -It’s just dress that was ruined….It’s not like I will be using it anyway though. Sherry gripped the side of her wedding dress and took a long breathe.
- A long silence followed as none of them knew what to speak. Bella was lost in her own world as she tried to think things through.
- If the plan to poison her did not succeed, they were going to blame her for failure. Everything was supposed to have ended here but somehow, things were not working according to it.
- “Come on, let’s go now,” Sherry laughed, trying to ease the tension and snapping Bella out of her thoughts.
- “Go where?” Bella, who had just started to get up from the ground, felt a sudden unease creep up at Sherry’s words.
- “Isn’t it obvious?” Sherry lifted the veil from the dressing table and carefully placed it on her head.
- “To the wedding hall.”
- Sherry smiled faintly. She had her own plans in mind.
- But what she didn’t know was that something far bigger was waiting for her at the wedding—something she could never see coming.
