Chapter 3

  • POV Sherry
  • Coming out of the closet, Sherry walked silently like an assassin towards the king sized bed and looked at the sleeping face of her best friend and her bloated stomach, her red eyes moving back and forth.
  • “Why are you doing this to me?” Sherry felt her heart breaking into pieces as she asked the sleeping girl question in a whispering tone.
  • She hated the girl but more than that she loved her to death since they had been friends for a long time. Bella loved her as if she was her own sister.
  • Suddenly, her hand phone vibrated in her hand waking her up from her chain of thoughts. A new notification had appeared.
  • Sherry swiped open her lock and looked at the message.
  • Chris: When are you coming? I am done with my work.
  • Looking at the message a sense of loss enveloped her whole body. Her heart felt a bitter but sweet still. After all, he was the man she had loved her whole life.
  • “I will pretend I did not see anything today.” Sherry sternly looked at the sleeping face which was glowing in the evening light.
  • “I will not question anything about why you poisoned me in last life.” Sherry glanced at her.
  • ‘But tomorrow, I will be sure to unmask your face if you pull the same stunt.' Taking a deep breathe Sherry was determined in her heart.
  • “But I am taking him back.” Sherry tightened her finger in a fist and taking a long breathe she unclenched them slowly.
  • Locking the door behind her Sherry directly went to the parking lot to get her car. She did not care if the man cheated on her behind her back. All that mattered to her was he was stilling willing to marry her.
  • Although she tried to be strong, fresh tear piled up in her eyes and fell down continuously. With the back of her hand, she wiped her eyes but the tear did not stop blurring her eyes.
  • She passed a few people who were in the parking lot who upon her arrival looked at her strangely since she was a crying mess.
  • But she did not care and she did not see their expression. She had her own broken heart to take care of.
  • ‘Am I not good enough?’ She wondered but that just brought out another batch of tear, blurring her vision.
  • She did not see the uneven floor when walking. Unknowingly her heel got stuck there.
  • “Ouch…” Sherry tripped on her high heel and lost the balance of her body. She looked in horror at the concrete basement that she was about to fall head first.
  • If her head hit the floor, as her experience as a doctor she knew she would fracture her skull resulting in death or either comatose state.
  • And she wanted neither as they both equaled to death.
  • ‘Am I going to die again?’ The thought crept up on her mind.
  • ‘No! I can’t die again! Not like this!’
  • A burning determination lighted up in her pure blue eyes.
  • She made the decision in flash.
  • ‘Sorry but I am borrowing you for a second.’ With a quick movement she grabbed the arm of the person who was nearest to her.
  • The man who got grabbed: “…”
  • Sherry: Oopsss…
  • “Bammmm!!!”
  • A loud crashing sound echoed throughout the parking lot as two bodies fell on top of each other with the sturdy body of a man cushioning the fall of a petite woman who was closing her eyes, trembling slightly, her thick and long eye lashes flickering once in a while making the heart of the man itch at its site.
  • ‘I am safe!’ A wave of relief flashed across her face when she realized she did not hit the ground but…
  • She moved her hand on the place she was placing her palm. Sturdy, strong and well-maintained chest muscles.
  • She was a doctor after all. Human anatomy was not a new thing for her but the body she was touching…
  • Holy Lord…
  • It was the first time she was touching such an amazing physique. She was interested in it…as a doctor. No other thoughts. Her hands unconsciously started to rummage through his chest like a pervert.
  • “Ahemmm…” The man beneath her coughed out loud to clear his throat and mainly to get the paw of the pervert woman who was touching and feeling him.
  • Brought back to reality, Sherry realized her action were like that of a pervert molesting a harmless citizen in the middle of daylight.
  • One eye at a time, Sherry forced open her eyes slowly.
  • “Goshh…” She gasped as she looked at the stern face of the man who was looking at her with a wrinkled brow. But despite the confusion and a little bit of irritation on his face, his handsomeness did not decrease.
  • In Fact, his cold demeanor was more than enough to make him look like an aloof male God.
  • First of all, she pulled him down with her, fell on top of him, touched him like a pervert and now she was staring at him like he was some kind of showcase material.
  • “I am sorry.” Sherry abruptly stood up and ran towards her car and before the man could even react she was driving away from the parking lot in full speed.
  • But she did not realize the meaningful gaze of the handsome stranger who looked at each of her action until she was completely out of sight.
  • Back in the car, sherry was panicking.
  • “What the hell did I do?” Sherry felt remorseful.
  • “That man looked angry. He won’t file a case against me saying I molested him in broad daylight right?” Sherry wanted to cut off her inquisitive hands and feed them to sharks.
  • But she was a surgeon so that option was not feasible. Her hands were her tools for saving life of people.
  • Sherry looked at her face in the mirror and saw her messed up makeup and mascara. She looked very ugly not that she was proud of it.
  • “Wow…I look like a tramp.” She admired her messed up ugly looking face.
  • “A face as ugly at this…he won’t even bother remembering me.” Sherry was happy since that meant at least she won’t be recognized by the man.
  • “Well…it was a nice change of pace.” Sherry was now more clear minded than before. The accident from before made her forget briefly about the pain in her heart and the cheating incident as well.
  • Pain....
  • It again reminded her of her cheating fiancé.
  • The face of the man who always said I love you to her overlapped with the face of the man who was just making love with her best friend.
  • “Chris…I am coming to you.” A low chuckle left her mouth but her sad eyes betrayed her.
  • Sherry changed the direction of her car on the road and drove towards Chris’s company in full speed.
  • “You better be prepared.”
