Chapter 45
- Gael
- When I left Tamara’s house, I collapsed on the ground next to her door and started to cry. I felt torn. I love my daughter and want to have her with me, but I also love Tamara and couldn’t bear not seeing her again. I heard cries, sobs, and then screams coming from Tamara’s apartment. I knocked for her to open the door, but she didn’t. Seconds later, I heard things breaking and being thrown, and I got scared because she might hurt herself. So, I kicked the door open and witnessed the worst scene I had ever seen in my life. Tamara was on her knees, crying like a little girl. My body froze at that moment until I managed to react and ran towards her, embracing her in my arms and holding her close to my chest.
- “Here I am, little one,” I kissed her head, and she said, “Don’t leave me, Gael.” Her voice was barely a whisper, her body trembling, and I saw small cuts on her face.
