Chapter 4
- "I bought her."
- "What did you do?" my friend shouts at me from the phone.
- "I bought her, man."
- "For God's sake, Gael, that girl must be around 17 or 18, how did she end up there?" my friend asks.
- "I don't know, I didn't plan on buying her, I just wanted a prostitute, but this little girl didn't seem like one. When she came out, she looked so innocent and shy that I couldn't bear the thought of another man buying her. Besides, I confirmed that she wasn't a prostitute when they said she was a virgin, so everyone started bidding and you have no idea how hard it was for me to get her," my friend sighs.
- "I can't believe you did this, friend, she's a child, she should be in school, not in those places."
- "I know, but I don't know how she ended up there, I have to ask her."
- "It's better if you do. Well, friend, I'll be there in two days, I'll come to your house and check on her."
- "Okay, take care."
- […]
- A week has passed, and Tamara is moving more, although she still won't get out of bed.
- "What are you doing up?" she looks at me with horror, as she always does when she sees me. I hate it when she looks at me like that, but well, Gael, you deserve it, you almost killed her.
- "I wanted... I wanted to go to the... bathroom," God, she's so adorable. I try to approach her, but she backs away.
- "Tamara, I won't hurt you, I promise," I caress her cheek and feel her tense up, but as time passes, she relaxes, and I decide to ask what I didn't dare to.
- "Who took you to that place?" she tenses up and opens her eyes wide.
- Tamara
- Who took you to that place? Gael's question left me frozen. I didn't know what to answer, I didn't know if I should tell him the truth. But well, if I tell him the truth, maybe he'll let me go, but I'll be alone. But no one will ever hurt you again. Maybe I should tell him. I take a deep breath and let it out.
- "My mother," his eyes widen.
- "She sold me to those bastards, she never loved me," I feel a tear fall, and Gael quickly wipes it away.
- "I'm so sorry, Tamara," he hugs me, and for some reason, I let him in these moments. I feel very vulnerable.
- "How can a mother sell her own daughter?" he says as if he can't believe it.
- "Well, I don't know, ask her," I decide to do the stupidest thing in my life.
- "Gael?"
- "Yes, Tamara?"
- "Will you let me go?" he lets go of me abruptly.
- "NEVER. You are mine, Tamara, you belong to me, and you will never leave my side, do you understand?" the fear I felt for Gael returns, and all I can do is nod.
- "Oh, I forgot to tell you, in one week you start school," he says coldly.
- "Will you let me study?" I say with a tone of excitement.
- "Yes, Tamara, and I hope that's all you do. I don't want any boys near you because if I find out, you'll have to deal with me," I'm tired of his damn threats.
- "You don't have to threaten me all the time, I know I'm stuck in this prison until you decide to find another toy," he grabs my arms tightly.
- "Watch your damn words," I'm scared, but I won't let him continue treating me badly.
- "Will you hit me again? Maybe this time I'll be lucky, and you'll end this miserable life I have," he lets go of me and seems to regret it, but he doesn't say anything, he just leaves slamming the door.
- "Idiot."
- At night, the door opens, and I see Gael with the man from the other night.
- "I see you're feeling better, Tamara," the man speaks, who happens to be very handsome.
- "I'm Zac, the doctor who treated you," oh God, he saw me naked?
- "Um... thank you for treating me, doctor," and I give him a smile. I see Gael, who is tense.
- "Well, take off your blouse, I need to examine you," I look at him and then at Gael.
- "He needs to leave," I point at Gael.
- "What? Oh no, I'm staying here, I've seen you like that before," I stand my ground.
- "If he doesn't leave, I won't let you examine me," Zac looks at Gael with a pleading look, and he huffs, leaving the room.
- "Well, now take off your shirt," I do it, but with a lot of embarrassment since I'm not wearing a bra. When I'm shirtless, I see him gulp.
- "Um... turn around, I'll examine you," I start to feel his hands all over my back, and it tickles.
- "I see you heal quickly, Tamara, that's good," he smiles, and I smile back.
- "Are you happy here?" that question leaves me frozen and all I can do is lower my gaze, but he takes my chin and caresses my cheek.
- "It doesn't matter, you already answered me. You are very beautiful, I see why Gael is crazy about you," I don't know why I feel the urge to kiss him, and without him expecting it, I kiss him. At first, he stays still, but seconds later he responds. At that moment, I forget that I am not wearing a blouse, so I feel him caressing my back and then my breasts, making me moan. But he stops abruptly.
- "God, Tamara, we can't do this. You are Gael's girlfriend or whatever you have with him, and I am his best friend," I bow my head in embarrassment.
- "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." he lifts my head and makes me look at him.
- "You are beautiful, and I loved the kiss. I loved being able to feel you like that, even if it was just for a few seconds. But what we have is impossible," He gives me one last kiss and leaves, leaving me confused and wanting more.
