Chapter 30

• I wake up with a strong headache so I decide to get up and take some painkillers. When I get to the bathroom, I stop in my tracks when I see my face in the mirror. I have two huge bruises, one near my mouth and the other on my cheek. I delicately caress the affected area and fill with anger knowing that Gael is the one responsible for this.
• "Enough, Tamara. You can't continue like this. You love him, yes, but you can't let him keep doing this to you. I'll take Emma up on her offer, but I have to earn her trust so she'll let me leave and do everything I need for the trip. And yes, I'll take his money because I can't leave without a penny."
• I get into the shower and put on something comfortable since I know I won't be going out today.
