Chapter 9 Blushing From The Ears

  • Wynette felt the gaze of the man in front of her was dangerously captivating, as if a single glance could suck away her soul. He exuded a natural aura of nobility that made people wary of approaching him too closely.
  • She instinctively stepped back to create some distance and politely looked down as she introduced herself, "Hello, I am Wynette Yancey, the piano teacher recommended by Ms. Halt."
  • She had only ever met Frederick's grandfather and mother from the Ziegler Family. She was unclear about this man's relationship with Frederick and had never seen him before.
  • Hudson softly repeated her name, "Wynette Yancey... alright, I'll remember that." A slight smile curved his lips, and his eyes shimmered with interest.
  • As Wynette looked up again, she caught him in a faint smile, his tall and handsome figure casting a striking silhouette against the light, enhancing his chiseled features.
  • She had to admit. This man possessed a kind of devastating handsomeness that could drive women mad.
  • The way he uttered her name in his deep, mellow voice inexplicably made her ears heat up.
  • Wynette felt the urge to touch her forehead to see if she was feverish.
  • Raelyn, slightly agitated, dragged her daughter over. Seeing Hudson smiling at this new piano teacher and even asking for her name was unprecedented. Normally, he wouldn't spare a second glance at the piano teachers, who were often dismissed because they tried too hard to catch his attention or even use his daughter to forge a connection with him.
  • One by one, she dismissed them. No one was going to steal my man!
  • Now, as just his fiancee and not yet Mrs. Ziegler, she couldn't afford to be careless and wouldn't allow any potential rivals near him.
  • She scrutinized Wynette, trying to find what set her apart from the others. Oh, indeed, she had a pretty face, especially those alluring eyes that seemed to charm at a glance.
  • This type of woman certainly couldn't stay to teach her daughter.
  • Raelyn inwardly cursed. What was Ms. Halt thinking? Sending over such a temptress? She should have requested a plain teacher!
  • "Hudson, why are you back so early today?" Raelyn suppressed her thoughts and slipped her arm through his, silently asserting her status.
  • "I came to pick up a document."
  • "Daddy, are you going out again?" Madison looked up at him.
  • Hudson gently touched his daughter's hair. "Yes, I need to go to the study to handle some work, and then I have to head to the group." He paused, then continued, "Now that the new teacher is here, you should study diligently and not give up halfway. Aim to play a piano piece fluently at your grandpa's birthday party."
  • Madison pouted. "It's not that I give up. It's just that..." Mommy always dismisses the teachers before I can learn anything.
  • She didn't finish her sentence as Raelyn cut her off, "Don't worry, I'll be with Maddy during her lessons. She'll definitely play well for Dad's birthday."
  • Hudson finally turned his attention to her, nodding slightly. "Then I appreciate your efforts during this time."
  • "I'm her mommy. How could it be hard..." Raelyn smiled, though her smile hid a trace of bitterness; he was always so formal and polite with her.
  • Hudson looked back at Wynette and said with a half-smile, "My daughter is now in your hands." He really hadn't expected her to be a teacher.
  • Wynette kept her eyes lowered, not wanting to meet his gaze. "I'll do my best."
  • She said the right words, but she already felt overwhelmed. This little girl was expected to perform at a birthday banquet, and any slip-up would be the teacher's fault—too much pressure.
  • "Hudson, you can go about your business. Don't worry about your daughter," Raelyn quickly ushered him upstairs, eager to end his interaction with Wynette.
  • After Hudson left, Raelyn immediately turned coldly to Wynette, "You can leave now."
