Chapter 2 Help Me To Suck It Out
- Four years later.
- At the airport late at night, a flight from Xinabay had just landed.
- Ten minutes later, Wynette, dragging her luggage, emerged from the security passage; her reserved car was already waiting outside.
- As soon as she turned on her phone, she saw dozens of missed calls, all from her son, Ethan Yancey.
- There was a time difference between Xinabay and here, and it must be morning there. Waking up to find his mom gone, he must be anxious.
- Her phone vibrated again; the boy was calling.
- Wynette sighed inwardly and answered the call, only to hear her son's very upset voice, "Mommy, why did you leave me behind and sneak back? Didn't you promise to take me with you to find Daddy?"
- "I came back first to handle some things, and once I'm settled, I'll bring you over. While I'm away, you must listen to Uncle Steven and not trouble him too much, okay?"
- She had left her son in the care of her good friend Steven Gardner.
- "I won't trouble him; I want to come to you!" Ethan said crossly and then hung up the call.
- "Hello? Hello?" Wynette stared at the phone, shaking her head helplessly; the child could be so stubborn sometimes.
- After storing her phone, she walked outside the airport, where her driver greeted her.
- "You get in the car, and I'll put your luggage in the back," said the driver.
- "Thank you," Wynette replied as she got into the car and closed the door.
- Suddenly, a man appeared out of nowhere, jumped into the driver's seat, and a few people started chasing towards the car.
- "What are you doing? Please get out!" Wynette was startled, but then quickly regained her composure, noticing a bloody smell on the man.
- The man was dressed in black and wore a black mask; he was breathing heavily and looked quite disheveled.
- Although his face was obscured, from the look of him, he didn't seem like a good person.
- The man, with eyes sharp as a hawk's, glanced at her, said nothing, and immediately shut the door and started the car!
- Caught off guard and without her seatbelt fastened, the car suddenly accelerated, and Wynette lurched forward, crashing into the man's arm.
- The man winced and grunted, indicating he was injured.
- At such close proximity, Wynette smelled an even stronger scent of blood, making her feel nauseous.
- Was this man a fugitive? Had he just killed someone?
- His gaze dark and ruthless, he roughly pushed her back into the rear seat with a very low voice, "Sorry, I need to borrow your car for a bit; I'll compensate you."
- Wynette guessed he might be a murderer, feeling a bit frightened—such people were dangerous and could bring fatal trouble.
- Cars were following them; the man kept checking the rear-view mirror as he sped up to shake off his pursuers.
- The car drove into a dark alley and, with a bang, crashed into a wall and came to a forced stop, with the smell of gasoline filling the air; the car might explode!
- Wynette swallowed hard, her hands trembling as she opened the door to escape, but a strong hand suddenly grabbed her.
- Turning her head, she met the man's chilling gaze under the dim light.
- "Please, help me..."
- Wynette tried to pull her hand back, but despite his injuries, the man was surprisingly strong!
- "I lent you the car. What more do you want?"
- "My leg is stuck," the man said.
- Taking a deep breath, Wynette helped to pull him from the car before it could explode.
- "You're so heavy..." She dragged the man away from the car.
- Just as they reached the corner, there was a loud explosion, and the car blew up.
- Wynette, shaken, collapsed to the ground, her legs weak, narrowly escaping death!
- As she gathered herself to leave, the man grabbed her again.
- "What?" Her patience wore thin, forgetting she was dealing with a 'murderer.'
- The man's distinctively jointed hand held her, his face unseen, as he gritted his teeth and said word by word, "I've been poisoned, help me suck the poison out..."
- After saying this, he suddenly tore open his shirt on the chest!
