Chapter 3 Husband

  • “It’s such a pity…” Jiang Yingying lamented.
  • “What’s so pitiful?”
  • “It’s a pity for him, of course!” Jiang Yingying twitched her lips towards the man, “He’s the new ace.”
  • Shell-shocked, Cen Yao almost spurted out wine, from her mouth. Worried that she might have misunderstood, she clarified, “By ace, do you mean…”
  • “A gigolo! He sells himself for sex!”
  • “…” Cen Yao could not help but steal several glances at him, “He doesn’t look to be the sort.”
  • Both his aura and demeanor had led her to presume that he was nothing short of an exceptional man.
  • “These days, male prostitutes need to know how to market themselves. Otherwise, how else could they win the favors of rich women?” As Jiang Yingying spoke, she eyed him head-to-toe, without concealing the disappointment in her eyes.
  • Cen Yao chuckled, “Why don’t you get your older brother to give him to you, if you think that it’s a shame?”
  • “I wish I could, but Xudong would kill me,” At the mention of Jiang Xudong, Jiang Yingying shrank inwards.
  • At this very moment, Jiang Yingying’s phone rang. Unexpectedly, it was the devil himself, who was calling.
  • After peeking at her phone, Jiang Yingying’s face dimmed as she anxiously packed her belongings and announced, “It’s Xudong calling! I’ve got to leave and answer it. I’ll be doomed if he discovers that I’m here.”
  • “Coward,” teased Cen Yao.
  • Watching as Jiang Yingying stormed out like a gale of wind, Cen Yao was somewhat envious of the happy child that Jiang Yingying was, with plenty of family members who had loved her.
  • In comparison, she was utterly alone.
  • Cen Yao laughed in a self-deprecating manner. At least this bizarre world had been filled with a myriad of people who had helped her play down her loneliness.
  • She sat silently, observing people, who were going to-and-fro. Before she knew it, the wine bottle had been emptied quickly, while she had become slightly tipsy.
  • Staggering out of the club, Cen Yao had slipped, almost spraining her foot. This was all due to the courtesy of her exceedingly tall high heels.
  • Suddenly, her body was caught in a powerful grasp.
  • “Careful!” The voice of a male stranger rang by her ear, sounding so magnetic, that it was almost like the voice of a late-night DJ. It was so magical that it could soothe one’s soul.
  • As Cen Yao opened her eyes to look upon her savior, she swiftly smiled like a smug child, “I know you!”
  • The man curved his lips, “You do? Then who am I?”
  • “You… do that for a living.”
  • The man probed, with immense patience, “Do what?”
  • Parting her pretty red lips, she uttered a single word in her stupor, “Prostitution.”
  • Stunned, the man broke out laughing.
  • The person behind him lost his cool, “Miss, you’d better mind your words! Who are you calling…?”
  • “That’s enough,” he raised his hand slightly, interrupting the person behind him. Unfortunately, the person had no choice but to swallow his dissatisfaction.
  • Cen Yao yanked the man’s necktie, “Don’t worry. I won’t look down on you… Everyone in the world is simply trying to survive. No person is nobler than the other, just like me…”
  • “You?” The man seemed to have taken an interest in her matters.
  • Cen Yao’s lovely little face became increasingly sorrowful, “I’d sold my body before too…”
  • When she had first married Bu Ziang, was it not akin to selling her body for high profit? Since then, her life had been beyond redemption.
  • A mild smile played upon the man’s stunning face, “Then it looks as if we have a lot in common.”
  • When he smiled, this man appeared to be ravishing and far more pleasing to the eye than Bu Ziang!
  • At the thought of the man, Cen Yao abruptly suggested, “Then why don't you sell yourself to me?”
  • “… Sell to you?” Shang Tingli raised his eyebrows. It was the first time anyone had dared speak to him in such a manner.
  • “Don't worry. I'll be gentle with you, and I don't have any bad habits either. Also…”
  • “Okay, we have a deal.”
  • This time, it was Cen Yao who was surprised, “It's a deal? We… haven't even decided on a price.”
