Chapter 13 So called Mr Shang
- After seating herself once again, Cen Yao reflected on what she had just learnt from the man.
- …Who told you that this could transmit sexual diseases?
- …So, you truly are a virgin.
- It was evident to her that they had merely kissed the other night, as their encounter did not evolve into having sex. In reality, she was the one who had brashly jumped to such a conclusion, when there was nothing to worry about, as there was no pain in her body whatsoever. No matter how gentle he was, it was impossible for her to feel nothing at all, and she should have known it sooner.
- Except, she was completely inexperienced, being a virgin after all.
- Twitching her mouth, she recalled the last thing he had teased her for.
- Virgin! So what, if she were a virgin? Was it embarrassing?
- In the time that followed, Cen Yao’s thoughts grew hectic, as she threw the things that had occurred to the back of her mind.
- The government finally released the Xincheng land parcel, but too many had wanted a slice of the pie. The Bu Enterprise, along with the Cens and Huayuan Real Estate, planned on combining forces to bid for the land. This way, when either company projected any long-term planning, they could use this as a milestone.
- Although Bu Ziang always appreciated having a great time, it was not utterly without limitation. As of late, he had been turning up to the office more diligently. Except, he was unable to look Cen Yao in the eyes, regardless of the occasion. There was always an air of deep disgust, as though she were an infectious germ spreading affliction. Though ironic, it gave Cen Yao reprieve.
- Upon completing her work today, Cen Yao received a phone call from her father, Cen An, “Come over for dinner with Ziang tonight. We need to talk about the land in Xincheng.”
- Cen Yao agreed. Although she could head back for sure, she could not speak on behalf of Bu Ziang. She did not call him either. Walking out of the office after work, she had spotted Bu Ziang’s car from afar parked at the office entrance.
- She had initially wanted to ignore him, heading straight for her car, but Bu Ziang opened the car window and stuck his head out, “Get in.” Cen Yao was uncontentious as she boarded the car with her purse, buckling her seatbelt. She teased him, “I’m so flattered that I’ve finally gotten to take Mr. Bu’s car.” The moment she had finished, her fingertips grazed against something. Moving her body slightly, she found a piece of sexy black lace from behind her waist, which appeared like it had gotten ripped apart.
- It went without saying that he was in the car with some other woman, having sexual relations. From the looks of it, it must have been quite wild. Cen Yao promptly felt as though there were a fishbone in her throat, and she was dying to spit it out. Undeniably, she had no feelings towards this man, whatsoever.
- “Why? Did you get another shock?” the sight of her pale face made Bu Ziang gleeful, as though Cen Yao had been met with reprisal. Cen Yao smiled as she balled the black lace into a bundle, tossing it into the car’s storage cabinet. Thereafter, she slowly combed through her bag to locate a name card, handing it over to Bu Ziang, “This is just what you need.”
- Seeing as he was driving, Bu Ziang did not take the name card. Instead, he resorted to glancing coldly at her. After placing the name card in his suit’s breast pocket, Cen Yao then adjusted his necktie as she smiled sweetly at him, “Mr. Bu, this is the name card of Professor Lu, at the Benevolence Hospital.”
- Bu Ziang gazed at her.
- She would rarely smile at him, so watching her beam like this had caused him to momentarily lose his focus. Albeit in a second, the next thing that she would say, would make him storming mad again.
- “Professor Lu is a dermatology expert. Shall I book you an appointment?” she asked helpfully.
- “Cen Yao, do you want to die?” he gritted his teeth.
- Cen Yao’s smile lit up, “Don’t worry. Professor Lu is very professional. Even if the checkup turns out positive for any illnesses, he won’t discriminate you because of it.”
- Bu Ziang’s face was utterly gloomy, as he wished that he could open the window, throwing this woman out immediately.
- …
- Cen Yao and Bu Ziang arrived at the Cen residence.
- When the Cens were around, Bu Ziang tended to restrain himself, not being as arrogant as he would usually be at the Bus.
- The family sat down together for dinner. Although Cen Xuan was around, she was too busy, so the servant had to go up twice to get her before she had finally made an appearance.
- “Yao, Ziang!” Cen Xuan greeted them while proceeding to sit herself beside Cen Yao.
- Cen Yao saw how full spirited she was and asked, “What are you up to? What would require so many invitations before you could come down for dinner?”
- Cen Xuan scooped her rice and announced, “I’m working on a proposal. I'm in charge of presenting the branch office’s report. My big boss will be coming, so I want to make a good show of it.”
- “You’ve got so much more drive. I didn't think you had it in you.”
- “What motivation? I think she is simply possessed!” Lu Lili told Cen Yao, “I’ve always wondered why she doesn’t want to join Huayuan or go work for you? She just wants to work from the lowest levels in someone else’s company and willingly suffer through all this hardship. Her so-called big boss has bewitched the girl, but the funny thing is, she hasn’t seen him once before, okay?”
- Upon hearing the subject, Cen Xuan’s eyes glimmered, and she started talking about it nonstop, “Yao, although I’ve never seen him, I’m around when our top brass has teleconferences. Boss is so charismatic that just his voice alone is so mesmerizing!”
- Cen Yao found it hilarious. How could anyone fall in love because of one’s voice? She was so innocent.
- “Does your lady boss know that you like him this much?”
- “Our boss isn’t married yet,” Cen Xuan explained, “But I think that he has a kid, who’s a few years old. My boss must be very good looking, so his kid should be the same too. I want to meet him so badly, okay?”
- Cen Yao watched as she envisioned her future and laughed, “Do you love his kid because you love him?”
- “Cen Xuan, you better stop daydreaming! You might be eager to be someone’s step-mom, but I’m no ready-made Granny,” Lu Lili burst her bubble with her words.
- Cen Xuan disapproved, “Just wait for me to win Mr. Shang over and bring him home for you to see. You’ll change your tune for sure then.”
- Mr. Shang?
- Upon hearing these two words, she suddenly recalled that there was someone who also went by, “Mr. Shang”. Instantly, she had found it amusing.
- The company, which Cen Xuan worked for, was the largest scale group of its kind in the country, Yuancheng Group. Boasting many branch offices and property under its name, in comparison to Yuancheng Group, the Bu Enterprise, and the Cen’s Huayuan were merely small fries, not worth mentioning. If Yuancheng Group was a pie, the Bu Enterprise and Huayuan combined would only be equivalent to an infinitesimal corner of the pie.
- As for Yuancheng’s boss, although he was very subtle, rumors about him ran rampantly within the circle. The rumor that had been spreading the most, was that he had married a few times, even having a young child. Since this kind of man was usually at least over 40 years old, the Mr. Shang, at Heaven and Earth, clearly did not fit the criteria at all. Cen Yao cleared her thoughts, refusing to let her imagination run wild.
- After dinner, she and Bu Ziang got asked to head to the study by her father, where he discussed work for over an hour before letting them go. Cen Yao recalled something, as she waited for Bu Ziang to leave before heading back to the study.
- “Need something?” asked Cen An.
- “I keep having the same dream as of late,” blurted Cen Yao.
- “Dream? What kind of dream?” Cen An set down the document that he was holding.
- “I keep dreaming about six years ago when I had fainted.” Cen Yao looked very distressed, “Dad, what happened after I’d fainted that time? Why did I remain unconscious for long? Why did my lower back hurt so much after I’d woken up?”
