• And so I began my career working at Shandy's Kitchen. It was run by Brooklyn, the large woman I had met the first time, and her husband, Archie. While Brooklyn was the brains and the one who actually did all the running around, her husband was a mild man with a perpetually vague smile on his face. He was the one who did the major part of the cooking, and he was great at it.
