Chapter 232 A Talk Behind Closed Doors
- Pursing her lips, Summer wanted to say something else, but she stopped when the door of the director’s office swung open, while Wyatt indicated for silence. The office was made up of two rooms. Summer and Wyatt were in the private room that was used as a lounge, whereas the director was leading Jake and Miller into the room outside that was used as a reception room.
- There was a hidden door between the two rooms, and only a select few knew that the two classical paintings on the wall were actually doorways. In order to provide Summer and Wyatt with a clearer view, the director even installed a pinhole camera in the reception room. Sitting on the bed, Summer was scrutinizing Jake from the computer screen in front of her, only to see that he wasn’t repenting at all, nor did he seem to feel sorry.
- Settling down on his chair, the director spoke. “Jake, I suppose I already made myself very clear. You joined the research institute under Mr. Malcolm’s recommendation, so you are no longer permitted to stay now that you’ve done something against Mr. Malcolm’s interests. I’ve paid you twofold your original salary, so I don’t know why you are dissatisfied with the outcome or what made you think it was necessary to stir up a commotion in front of the institute.”
