Chapter 41 A Part-Time Job
- Summer wanted to turn Jake down but eventually nodded in agreement when she recalled what he had once said to her. It was lunchtime at that moment, and all the restaurants nearby the hospital were too crowded. Thus, Jake decided to take Summer someplace else further away for lunch.
- While they were walking in the hot sun, Jake thoughtfully bought an umbrella from a roadside stall to shade Summer from the glaring sunlight. “That’s thoughtful of you, Jake,” Summer gratefully said with a smile.
- Jake chuckled and said, “That’s the least I could do for you.” The man’s words instantly made Summer’s face blush bashfully. “By the way, what brought you to the hospital?” Jake spoke with a soothing voice. “I remember your last visit was because you wanted to keep a friend company. So what about this time?”
