- My once joyous smile faded when her eyes lost focus right in front of mine, and then the machines started making a different noise. Evy closed her eyes, and soon her head tilted to the side, leaving me utterly terrified.
- "What happened?" I ask desperately. Without a response, a nurse approaches to try to pull me away. However, I exert force to stay close to her. Desperate, I hold each side of her face, feeling my vision blur instantly. "Evy, open your eyes! Look at me, my love!" My trembling voice comes out somewhat slurred; my hands and my body are shaking too. I feel like I'm being dragged along with her into the embrace of death. I just... can't let her go. "EVY!!!" I shout in the hope that she hears me and finally comes back to me. EVY, DON'T DO THIS TO ME! DON'T DO IT LIKE THIS, MY LOVE!
