Chapter 48

Freya had left the palace to go to the Red Fangs Pack before Arthur, who had spent the night in her bed, could wake up the next morning. At last, it got to the point where she stopped being afraid that Arthur would discover who she was. If he discovers she is an assassin, it will be for the best, since he will have to decide whether to abdicate his reign upon learning the truth or accept his death at her hands.
She smelled Flarry as she made her way through the woods. She stopped, glancing around. "It has been a while since our last meeting; could you maybe pardon me for not caring anymore?" she said, hoping he would respond, but he didn't.
She pressed her arms to her chest. "Since you helped prove my innocence, I became so enraged that no one cares about me. I was so stupid to forget you and, maybe because I was losing the game and needed to be alone.'' She took a step forward. "I sent away the maid and guard that have been waiting for me to take care of it alone after that wench discovered that I am the Princess and an assassin," she said with a smirk. "She wants me to leave the palace, but I have not decided what to do about them yet."
