Chapter 17
- The sight of the assassins drawing nearer to Arthur startled him. He thought back to Freya's warnings about the dangers of the outdoors, but he forced himself to ignore the thought of how she might have known. Whatever their number and strength, he would not stand by and let them assault him. He grabbed his sword from the ground and forced himself to stand.
- Unbelievably, though, he has now learned that the assassin who pays him regular visits is also the one who saved him. Is his goal to murder him or form an alliance with him? Was he supposed to murder him but was unable to do so? Who is he, exactly?
- For an assassin to be sent after his life yet hesitate to murder suggests one thing: the assassin knows him and may wish to work with him... or not.
