Chapter 60 The Party

  • I must admit that I am very nervous. I should follow Adrian's orders, but I can't. This is my destiny. I need to let things happen as they should. And, as I had wished before, I am about to climb the steps of the Bolton mansion, walk into that trap, and become an easy target for Nathan Bolton, who will take me to the witch. I hope to defeat her somehow, but in the process, I will hurt and anger both Adrian and my parents. Moreover, I will be exposed to the Pack. Everyone will know who I am and may come after me in the future to defeat me, just as they did with my ancestors. However, I have received a much greater power than I could have imagined and a responsibility I did not ask for. Now is the time to complete this mission.
  • When the driver opened the car door, I saw many people both outside and inside. The melodic and calm music echoed outside, as in all the high society parties that I hated so much. But it was my boyfriend's 18th birthday, and even though he had asked me to stay home, my curiosity and stubbornness were stronger. I would be exposed. Adrian would hate me. We would fight, and I would tell him to shut up so I could do what I came to do. But, of course, like me, he would not obey. Gradually, I realize that we are connected for no reason. I need Adrian by my side, and he needs me. Perhaps, with this connection, his father and family would accept me better. Well, that is what I wish for, but not what will actually happen.
  • I looked at the front of that illuminated and decorated mansion, took a deep breath, and climbed the steps, entering through the door. I wore a simple white dress with some beaded straps, small heels, and a purse. If everything went as I believed, I would be lying on a stone to be sacrificed by the witch. But I am confident, I have enough power to defeat her and I will not give up. When I reached the room where everyone was gathered, I realized that the place was much bigger inside than it seemed from the outside. It was richly decorated, with a crystal chandelier in the center. People were talking, drinking champagne, and I was impressed by the elegance. Everyone said the Boltons were the richest family in town, and it was evident now. I did not care about my boyfriend's social class, but I must admit I was surprised.
