Chapter 37 In Family
- Adrian had no idea he would fall in love with the girl he hated most. But as time passed, he discovered Luna was more than just an annoying girl. He didn’t yet understand if everything he was feeling was because of their bond. According to Luna, they were soul-bound, destined, forever. All to break the curse trapping them in that town. He still didn’t grasp witchcraft, much less how it worked. Watching the whole school tremble, leaves and branches hitting the glass window, and Luna nearly blowing up another student's head made him realize she was more than just a common witch.
- She had told him this before, but he had struggled to believe it. After all, witches just cast spells, created curses, and were terrifying. At least, that’s what his father said. Nathan hated witches. His past generation and the entire pack hunted and burned them out of vengeance. Centuries, decades, thousands from both sides died because of a vengeance that never ended. It was more than just a curse trapping them in that town. It was a curse repeating the same events. Wolves and witches fighting, hunters killing them, everything burning.
- Adrian didn’t want to repeat his ancestors' actions. And he absolutely didn’t want his father and the entire pack to harm Luna upon discovering who she was. He got her out of there as quickly as possible. He felt Luna wasn’t herself, controlled by a supernatural force he couldn’t explain. Just like he had been weeks ago. Adrian had no idea what in that town left them so disoriented, causing them to act so horribly. He was scared. Very scared. So, he let Luna leave as quickly as possible. She was too stubborn for him to stop her. So, she decided to go. And Adrian followed her as soon as he could. He had no explanations. The only reason was clear: to protect her at all costs.
