Chapter 48 New Secrets
- Luna woke up with the first rays of daylight piercing through the thin curtain of her bedroom window. Her eyes blinked slowly, adjusting to the brightness. The sun was already high enough to indicate that everyone in the house was probably awake. She sighed, knowing that in a few minutes, she would have to face her relatives at the breakfast table.
- She preferred to stay in her room. She had always considered herself very antisocial, very different from all of them. Luna loved her family—her uncles, aunts, cousins, and of course, her parents. But she had always felt different from them. She was more reserved, more introspective. She spent most of her time with headphones on, oblivious to the conversations around her. When someone called her, she reluctantly took off her headphones and asked them to repeat the question, even though she didn’t want to answer.
- Luna never quite knew why she felt this way. Until she stepped into that damned city. It didn't explain everything, but she was beginning to understand herself. Finally, she got out of bed, brushed her teeth, and got dressed. She had nothing planned for the day except spending time with her family, as she had promised her father. On the last visit, she hadn't shown up, making up some excuse. This time, she promised not to repeat the mistake.
