Chapter 10 Farm

• I return home, lost in my own thoughts about what happened at the club. I flop onto the sofa, letting my body sink into the soft cushions. It's funny how some men think they have some kind of power over women, as if they can win us over with their cheap moves. But I don't fall for that trap.
• I get so caught up in my thoughts that I end up falling asleep right there on the couch. When I finally wake up, sunlight floods the room, and my phone starts ringing. I try to find the device and answer without checking the caller ID. I smile upon recognizing my mother's voice on the other end.
