Chapter 196 Equally Important

  • It must have been due to the sedatives given to Aleah that she was not overwhelmed, although she could feel overjoyed. She was smiling with tears stubbornly flooding her face. Aleah did not make her cries heard, but her nose had reddened from her continuous pinching on it to hold her tears back somehow. She was as happy as a clam to see the father of her children bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to know he was now a dad to twin babies. His cheerful mood was more than enough for Aleah to be convinced that this man would never ask her to do any harm to the little beings in her womb.
  • “Honey, I am so sorry. I feel so awful that I made you think I will react negatively to such wonderful news,” Denny was still ecstatic despite his sight being blurry due to the tears in his eyes. “I can’t begin to imagine how I have been so mean around and beside you all these times for you to worry and feel frightened I would be such an ass to you and our little ones,” Denny added.
  • Denny reached for the holder of facial tissue next to a vanity mirror he spotted in the room and dried Aleah’s tears before he also did the same to his face. He was over the moon with so much joy, but he also came to realize Aleah must have always been cautious in stepping an invisible line she had set between her -the service girl, and Denny -the client.
