Chapter 39

• Alessandro was the first person to wake her, and he felt terrible that he had been crushing her the whole night. He wanted to stand up, but she wasn't making it possible due to her surprisingly strong grip around his waist. He had fallen asleep, and now he stared at her face, noticing the tears that had dried on her cheeks. She had called out his name throughout the night, and that made him feel even worse. He must have hurt her deeply.
• He carefully stood up, trying not to disturb her, and walked quietly out of the room. Harmony woke up a few minutes later, groaning in pain as she stretched her body. She went to the living room, and the reflection of light from Alessandro's room showed her that he was still at home.
• She sighed, remembering what Godfather Marco had told her to do. How was she going to say it? She was confused. She quickly made a light breakfast and Alessandro entered the room just as she was dishing it out.
