Chapter 3
- "Harmony!" A voice called outside. Harmony turned tiredly and opened her eyes, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She was sitting on the floor with her head on the bed, having fallen asleep that way while watching over the stranger at night.
- "Harmony, are you still sleeping?" Her brother called again, raising an eyebrow in concern. She quickly sprang up, running toward the door with a worried expression. She came out, closing the door behind her so he wouldn't see her room.
- "Good morning, brother!" She greeted me with a bright smile, trying to hide her fatigue.
- "How are you? Are you okay? You look really stressed," Her brother asked worriedly, furrowing his brow as he examined her face. "Didn't you have a good sleep?"
- "I'm okay, brother," She said nervously, fidgeting with her hands. "You don't have to worry."
- "You were already asleep when I came yesterday. I brought your favorite ice cream; you can take it from the freezer," Her brother said, and she hugged him happily, her face lighting up with a smile.
- "Thank you so much, Hard Guy!" She said cutely, batting her eyelashes.
- "I made breakfast. You should eat and listen to your teacher. Don't play games when she's teaching you. I don't want her to report you again," Hardin said calmly, giving her a stern look.
- "I won't," She said, though she wasn't so sure of that, looking down sheepishly.
- "I should go now. I'll be back very early today. I'll bring something special for you," He said, pecking her cheek before leaving. He rode his bicycle to his workplace, whistling a happy tune. He actually owned a small local bar where he sold cocktails and alcohol.
- Harmony let out a sigh of relief before going back to her room. The man was still asleep, which she expected since he was burning up with fever last night. She was even afraid he might die. He was also battling some nightmares, whimpering all night, making her wonder what he must have been through. He must have faced a lot for him to have such nightmares.
- She stared at his face for a while. He was really handsome, and she felt shy just staring. She sighed and went into the bathroom, needing to prepare herself for her lesson soon. She didn't want her teacher to complain to her brother.
- She wore all her undies in the bathroom because she didn't feel comfortable dressing in front of a man, even if he was asleep. Her brother had warned her against that.
- She came out with her towel wrapped around her body, removed it, and opened her wardrobe. The color purple was everywhere, with a few other colors.
- "You must really like the color purple a lot," A deep voice said. Harmony quickly turned back, picking up her towel and wrapping it around her body. Alessandro raised his eyebrows, looking at her, though not as if she was naked anyway. He had a hint of amusement on his face.
- "I won't look, okay? You can wear your clothes," He muttered, turning his back on her. Harmony watched him for a while before starting to dress when she was sure he wouldn't look.
- "I'm done," She said in her angelic voice. Alessandro turned back to her, his sinful eyes roaming around her body. Harmony started fidgeting with her fingers, something she only did when nervous. She looked down, avoiding eye contact.
- "Thanks," She finally said, her voice barely above a whisper.
- Harmony returned with her breakfast, her brother always made extra in case she wanted more, and she was really happy about that today because she would be able to feed Alessandro. She dropped the food in front of him, and he smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
- "Did you make this?" He asked, his brow furrowed in curiosity.
- "No, my brother did," she smiled, her cheeks flushing pink.
- "He's good," Alessandro said with a smile, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
- "Yeah," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
- "Where is he? Does he know about me?" He asked calmly, his expression serious.
- "He doesn't. He will scold me if he knows. He may even call the cops," she said gently, her eyes wide with concern.
- "Well, that's the right thing to do. You shouldn't allow a stranger into your house. You don't know what the person could do," Alessandro muttered, his brow furrowed in disapproval. He watched as she walked closer, her movements graceful and fluid. She suddenly placed her hand on his forehead to feel his temperature.
- "You're okay now," she said, smiling brightly, her eyes shining with relief.
- "Are you worried?" He asked, his expression softening.
- "I was. I thought something bad would happen," she said cutely, her lower lip trembling slightly. He watched her, and without being told, he could tell she was naive and cute. He was a little amazed since he wasn't used to someone like that.
- "You should shower. I'll get clothes for you," she said quickly and ran out of the room, her ponytail bouncing behind her. He finished his breakfast before going into her bathroom. The place was small and tiny, just like her. He couldn't even use her bathtub. He saw that all her soap, toothbrush, and even her towel were purple.
- "What is she exactly?" He scoffed, his eyes rolling in disbelief. He came out after bathing, his hair damp and messy. Her towel couldn't even wrap around him. She looked really small too. He saw a hoodie and a trouser on the bed. She must have dropped it there. He picked it up and wore it. It was tight, but he could deal with that.
- She came in and chuckled. "You must be really big. I don't have any other clothes to give. Those are my brother's, but I think you are bigger than him." She said, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
- "Don't worry about that, Gattino (kitten)," he said coolly, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
- "That's not my name," she pouted, her lower lip sticking out.
- "I know, but I think it fits you better," he said, his smile mischievous. "Give me your phone." He said after a moment of silence, and she quickly handed it over to him. He did something on it before handing it over to her.
- A few minutes later, there was a loud noise outside her house, so she quickly ran out. She was surprised to see four cars outside, some men in black came out, holding guns. She gasped in shock and wanted to run back inside, but was stopped.
- "Miss, we are here for our boss, Venom," a man said. He was Blade, Godfather Marco's right-hand man.
- "Your... boss?" Harmony said nervously, her eyes wide with fear.
- "Come in, Blade," Alessandro said from inside, and Blade bowed before entering inside. Harmony was confused. She just remained outside until they both came out of her house. Alessandro was now clad in a suit, which made him look really attractive.
- "Thanks for your hospitality, Gattino. I will have to go now," he said calmly and started going. They opened the door for him, and he was about to enter when she suddenly shouted.
- "Hey... I didn't know your name!"
- He smiled, but it soon disappeared, replaced with a dangerous glare.
- "You don't have to know because I don't think we will be meeting soon," he said and entered his car.
- "This is for the hospitality," Blade said and dropped a black card in her palm. She watched as they all entered the car and drove away.
- "Why am I wishing for him to stay longer?" she thought, shaking her head before going back inside. She looked at the card in her hand, wondering what it was used for. It was a black debit card with a certain amount of money loaded onto it. She didn't know why Alessandro had given it to her, but she felt a sense of gratitude towards him.
- As she entered her house, she couldn't help but feel a sense of confusion. Why did she feel a pang of disappointment when Alessandro left? She didn't even know him. She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. She looked at the card again, turning it over in her hand. It was a simple No name, no message. Just a card.
- THE EVIL SYNDICATE
- Pedro sat in his office, laptop open, a pack of weed on his lip. He was expecting his men, but they hadn't arrived. He couldn't wait to hear the feedback. He had everything recorded, ready to show the other mafias, especially Godfather Marco, how he had easily killed his supposed backbone.
- A guard called him, and he quickly left his office. Outside, all the clan members were gathered, watching the bodies of the twenty men Pedro had sent to the game. They all had gunshot wounds.
- "He killed them all," the guard said, as another guard brought out a laptop and played a video. It showed the explosion and how they had pursued him, the gunshots he received. "He can't survive that," Pedro smirked, but frowned when he saw a girl dragging him into her apartment. "Did she treat him or what?" he asked angrily.
- "Who is she?" he demanded, fuming. "I actually did some research, and I was shocked at what I found out," his right-hand man said.
- "What is it?" Pedro asked.
- "She is the daughter of Antonio Argento," he said.
- "Do you mean the doctor who mysteriously disappeared some years ago?" Pedro asked.
- "He is the one, Don," the man said, and a wide smile spread across Pedro's face. "This is getting more interesting than I thought. I think we will be giving her a visit. Get ready, I need fifty men."
