Chapter 86 Must Be A Coincidence (2)
- When I reach my apartment building, one of the neighbour’s dogs—a young German Shephard—appears out of nowhere and starts following me, barking loudly. I try to shoo it away, but it keeps coming back, persistent in getting my attention. Looks like they locked him out, again.
- I sigh in defeat, knowing there’s no point in trying to ignore it. I crouch down and scratch the dog behind its ears, earning a satisfied whimper. Its fur is matted and dirty, and it looks like it hasn’t eaten in days.
- “Come on, I’ll get you something to eat,” I tell the dog, grabbing one of the grocery bags.
