• After dropping off Ava at her workplace, I headed straight to Kian’s school. It had been two days since I last saw him, and before leaving for Thailand later in the evening, I wanted to spend some quality time with him. I had already spoken to the principal, who agreed to give me a few hours before Kian had to return to his classes.
• Once I parked the car in the lot, I entered the tall building and was greeted by an empty corridor. The kids were most likely in their classrooms, with only a few teachers and staff lingering around, making sure no one was playing hooky by hiding in various spots.
