• "Jason is the General Manager?" Bethany asked, her voice trembling with shock as the revelation hit her like a thunderclap. Her face was a canvas of disbelief and hurt, she tried to hide her emotions, but they betrayed her.
• "Oh, okay," she murmured, her voice cracking as she fought to regain composure. She slowly placed her purse back into her bag, her disappointment palpable. "It's... it's alright.
